What is your most memorable wedding?
Easily our first LGBTQI+ couple. Nat and Stacey had a horrible time with other suppliers prior to their elopement. They said we were the first vendor to make them feel like brides and begin to look forward to their day. They had a great sense of humour (much like us two), not only wanted stunning images but actually gave us virtually their entire day to have a laugh with them and create some fabulous memories.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Modern, Bold, Innovative, Humorous & Memorable
What about your business are you most proud of?
We recently ran a program to help couples who had financial hardships caused by the cost of living crisis. All weddings are wonderful but these felt particularly special as we were using our skills to help people who would otherwise have missed out on a photographer for their special day.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Go with your gut, meet all of your suppliers and if you gel book them. There's nothing worse than a grumpy supplier!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
The moment a bride informed her new husband during the speeches that his adoption of her little girl had been confirmed that same day; he was shocked, the guests were in tears, the photographer's bottom lip wobbled for a brief second.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
All of our couples have either an in person meeting (in our studio) or video/phone call to get to know us prior to making any decisions.
Roughly one week prior to the big day our couples have a pre wedding meeting to discuss the finer details of their day and are invited to get in touch any time they have questions as we're always on hand to help.
We get to know our couples before the day and plan each wedding to suit the individual couple's personalities.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
First look. This is traditionally a US concept which is slowly making it's way to our shores and we think it's fabulous. It gives the couple 5 minutes to appreciate each other without all eyes on them.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A couple who wanted a boudoir shoot after being married while the reception was in full swing.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Get out in the rain, you'll regret not doing it and images with dark clouds and rainfall are really dramatic. (Bring a brolly)
Describe how you got into photography.
I've had a camera in my hand for as long as I remember, it's like another limb and I feel lost without it.
