Based in the heart of Banstead, Surrey, Gemma Machell Photography specializes in capturing weddings with a genuine, heartfelt approach. Gemma’s passion for all things wedding means she tells the full story of your day—from those quiet, anticipatory moments to the lively celebrations on the dance floor. Her style is natural and romantic, creating timeless images that preserve your most precious memories.
Covering weddings across the UK, Gemma understands that your wedding day is uniquely yours. She focuses on capturing authentic emotions and candid interactions, delivering meaningful photos you’ll treasure forever.
Feeling nervous about being in front of the camera? Gemma creates a calm, relaxed atmosphere that helps even the most camera-shy couples feel at ease. Her unobtrusive, documentary-style approach means you’ll barely notice her presence as she captures genuine moments throughout the day.
While candid shots are her specialty, Gemma also values couple portraits. These sessions are kept short and natural—a relaxed stroll rather than a formal photoshoot—so you can quickly return to enjoying your guests and celebrations. It’s also a perfect moment to pause, soak in your new marriage, and recharge.

I am proud of the amazing feedback I have received.
Its such a joy to be able to put people at ease and support couples to have their best day. I make no assumptions about your wedding and love celebrating individuality.
I'm proud of my Inclusivity!! I will check and respect your pronouns.
Do your research, and make sure your super comfortable with your photographer. They are with you all day so you want to ensure they make you feel at ease and get on with your guests.
I love the gifts exchanged between the couple. They are so personal and reiterate who are actually the most important people on the day

Call me with any questions or concerns at any time......
I always have a pre meet with you and ideally that's at the venue, so you can show me round and we can get excited over possible locations for awesome photos.
FIRST GLANCE, all the way it captures everything!
I also love the golden hour shoot when you're a bit more relaxed and the light is simply beautiful
The most original photos was an ad hoc flower field shoot, which involved jumping a fence. The photos were absolutely gorgeous even if I did get a few stings from nettles (totally worth it)
Umbrellas send awesome lighting for some stunning artistic shots. Make the most if it and enjoy it (the photos will be amazing)
I have worked as a nurse for many years mainly in oncology. I realised life is full of special moments and so precious. I then choose to combine that joy with my other passion (photography) which lead me to the best job ever. I love love and completely melt at weddings
