What is your most memorable wedding?
One that will stick with me forever was for Ant and Pete. It was right at the beginning of my career and they had a really small and intimate wedding, with less than 30 guests. By the end of the wedding I was on the dancefloor drinking espresso martinis and dancing to Mambo No5. Since then I've shot 4 wedding for that same group of friends - and the thing that really sticks with me is how close knit they all are.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, artistic, fun, creative and personal
What about your business are you most proud of?
The relationships I build and maintain with my cients.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do it your own way - don't let anyone tell yo how your wedding should be - there are no rules.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One couple didn't hire a videographer and gave a little 90s style cam corder to guests to pass around throughout the day and film what they wanted. That was super fun.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
When I receive your exciting enquiry, I'll send my pricing over and we'll arrange a call to talk all about your wedding plans and see if we're a good match.
Once booked in, you'll get periodic emails from me with hints and tips on planning a wedding and I'll check in to see how it's all going.
I'll send you a pre-wedding questionnaire around 6 weeks before the wedding to get all the timings and other vendors details from you and then we'll have a pre-wedding call a week or two before the big day.
On the day I'll arrive at the time we've arranged - usually a couple of hours before the ceremony to document you and your squad getting ready. I'll be an extension of your wedding party for the day, capturing the energy and atmosphere of your wedding from the heart of the action. I'll get you some gorgeous family group shots and romantic and fun couple's portraits and then document your reception through to dancing. I don't leave straight after the first dance, I'm there until I feel I can tell the story of your whole day properly.
After your wedding, within a few days you'll receive a small handful of fully edited previews so you have something to share with friends and family straight away. The final full online gallery (hundreds and hundreds of images) will be ready around 6 weeks later.
The online gallery is password protected with a separate PIN to download images. This means you have full control over who can see and who can download them.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Every wedding is different. The most important photo to you could be of your Grandma on the dance floor, or it could be Dad giving a speech. Maybe your portraits are most important? It's not for me to decide and this is why I make sure I know what your priorities are before the big day.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
My couples tend to give me the creative freedom to shoot what I find interesting and interpret the day with my own artistic style. I'm rarely asked to take anything specific by a client due to the relationships I build with them.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Don't panic! I've never been prevented from doing my job due to the rain. I bring lighting with me to every wedding in case the weather needs us to take group shots and portraits indoors, I've done this before and it's always turned out great.
If it rains, it rains - you'll still have a great day.
And if you were really hoping for some outdoor sunset portraits but the weather prevents it - we can always arrange another shoot to do this another day after the wedding.
Describe how you got into photography.
I actually made vlogs on youtube for a very short time - and bought a camera to improve the video quality - but little camera i bought on ebay was so loud when it focussed, it was unusable for making the videos. Determined not to waste my money - I took the camera out to try my hand at some street photography and decided straight away that it was what I wanted to do for a living.
