Ewan Mathers - Photographer

Ewan has great talent in capturing those little moments throughout the day, everything is natural and for us the series of photos told a story of the day, the people and the emotions involved. The end product represented excellent value, Ewan with his not insignificant talent and commitment could (and probably should) charge a lot for his services. When you meet him though, you’ll understand his approach. He is a good man, passionate about his work, full of empathy and understanding.

We recently used Ewan for our micro wedding in Edinburgh. This was definitely an excellent decision. Ewan captured our day perfectly and made us feel at ease. He went above and beyond what we expected not only taking excellent photos but also being a witness for us. Thanks Ewan. I would have no hesitation using Ewan again and would highly recommend him.

Ewan is such a talented gentleman – we were lucky to have him photograph our wedding! His communication is swift, work top-notch. He showed up earlier than we decided on and I’m glad he did, given that some of our favourite photos are those he photographed before the ceremony, for which he wasn’t expected. He was unobtrusive and professional, and a memorably charming personality – for my partner and I it was delightful walking around Edinburgh’s Old Town with Ewan.

Ewan was the best! He showed up early, had such a kind and jovial attitude, and was incredibly communicative before, during and after the wedding. He also turned our pictures around in record time since we were only in Edinburgh for a short time. I would highly recommend him, and if we ever need photos for an event in Edinburgh again, he’ll be my first call!

I came across Ewan’s services when looking for someone to shoot our elopement in Edinburgh. I was blown away by his reviews, the aesthetic of his portfolio and his feel-good personality that was beautifully translated through our email communication. As we had traveled half way round the world for this moment, Ewan made sure we felt welcome and comfortable. He went above and beyond, taking us on a guided walking tour of the Old Town and made sure we had the most iconic backdrops in our photos.

An absolutely incredible experience with Ewan! Coming from a different country into Scotland, Ewan made our proposal feel so special and captured the perfect moment without being noticed! He was so kind and walked around after the proposal to take our pictures in the park nearby. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

We booked Ewan quite late in the day for a wedding and found him to be incredibly accommodating. We had asked for the photos to be quite natural and he delivered exactly what we wanted. He edited the photos and sent to us in a very swift manner. While we were on honeymoon we came back to a lovely gift box with the USB. We would have no hesitation in recommending Ewan and must thank him again for everything.

We recently used Ewan for our wedding at Carlowrie Castle. We were really impressed with his snaps from the day! He was incredibly flexible with his approach, and friendly throughout our consultations as well as the day itself. His fees were as fantastic as his level of service. Included in the price was a USB with all edited images from the day, as well as a number of printouts and access to all photos online for our own use.

Wow what can I say? Ewan is fantastic. He captured the most beautiful photos of our wedding day. His cameras allow him to hover the other side of the room and capture very high quality close shots. He knew exactly where to be and who to focus on for each moment. Highly recommended!

We met with Ewan at our hotel early in the evening, it was dark and raining. But, Ewan couldn’t have caught the magic and beauty of our special moment any better. We had photographs in our hotel and out in the Edinburgh streets under the lights of the Castle. We had an amazing time. Ewan spent a good hour and half with us, and we never once felt rushed. He took his time with us, knew exactly how he wanted to capture a shot but also was quick to capture those wicked candid shots too.
