It’s gotta be a wedding in NYC hasn’t it?! Memorable because it was 40 degrees and because I managed to trip myself up and break a lens. But it was also an absolutely beautiful day and I took some photos I will forever be proud of.
Relaxed, fun, timeless, unobtrusive, adventurous.
Making it through the dreaded year(s) of the rona and still having a business and lots of couples’ weddings to photograph!
Just do you! Don’t get caught up on planning a wedding for everyone else, do exactly what the both of you want.
Dogs being there!
I always like to setup a zoom call after the initial enquiry, this is an easier way to chat all things weddings and photography. This also gives couples a chance to make sure I am the right photographer for them.
If I am, I send over some booking information - a small questionnaire, a contract and I take a £200 deposit to secure their date.
I am then there whenever they need me for advice, recommended suppliers, ideas for their wedding photos.
I have a very natural approach so don’t go in with the idea of taking specific photos. I just love to capture the day as it happens, rather than staging anything.
Embrace it! A little rain never hurt anyone, and those outfits aren’t coming out again! Either get some clear umbrellas and try and keep dry or run about it the rain and get muddy - I’m up for either!
As for group photos, we can always find a little spot to keep the parents dry and happy.
I’ve always been my dads shadow, so when he started getting into photography, I wanted to as well. I stole his camera and broke it when a wave came over my head in Jersey! This made me buy one for myself and I started out my photography journey by photographing abandoned buildings. I studied for a year at college but I am mainly self taught.
