EKR Pictures Full Description
I’m a wedding photographer based in Derbyshire, but I travel far and wide capturing weddings. I have photographed weddings in North Wales, London and even New York. As I’m sure you’ll gather from this gallery, I have a documentary approach to my photography, I love all of the natural, un-staged moments. The ones that you miss or the ones you might forget and the alcohol-influenced ones you want to forget!! I’m here for it all. Most people say to me that they don’t like having their photo taken, and I get it. It’s not a normal thing and most people haven’t had that experience since they were at school. My aim is to make you feel as relaxed as possible. I just mill around amongst guests, photographing as I go. You probably won’t even know I’m there! Unless there’s children, then you probably will know I’m there as I’ll be joining in with all of their games!! I’ve always wanted to work with children, so I tend to double up as a babysitter… I’m always happy to send full wedding galleries for you to look at, so that you can get a proper feel for my style. Just let me know if you want to see those!

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

It’s gotta be a wedding in NYC hasn’t it?! Memorable because it was 40 degrees and because I managed to trip myself up and break a lens. But it was also an absolutely beautiful day and I took some photos I will forever be proud of.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Relaxed, fun, timeless, unobtrusive, adventurous.

What about your business are you most proud of?

Making it through the dreaded year(s) of the rona and still having a business and lots of couples’ weddings to photograph!

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Just do you! Don’t get caught up on planning a wedding for everyone else, do exactly what the both of you want.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Dogs being there!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I always like to setup a zoom call after the initial enquiry, this is an easier way to chat all things weddings and photography. This also gives couples a chance to make sure I am the right photographer for them. If I am, I send over some booking information - a small questionnaire, a contract and I take a £200 deposit to secure their date. I am then there whenever they need me for advice, recommended suppliers, ideas for their wedding photos.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

I have a very natural approach so don’t go in with the idea of taking specific photos. I just love to capture the day as it happens, rather than staging anything.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Embrace it! A little rain never hurt anyone, and those outfits aren’t coming out again! Either get some clear umbrellas and try and keep dry or run about it the rain and get muddy - I’m up for either! As for group photos, we can always find a little spot to keep the parents dry and happy.

Describe how you got into photography.

I’ve always been my dads shadow, so when he started getting into photography, I wanted to as well. I stole his camera and broke it when a wave came over my head in Jersey! This made me buy one for myself and I started out my photography journey by photographing abandoned buildings. I studied for a year at college but I am mainly self taught.
