A well thought out speech.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I meet around a month before to get to know the couple further, firstly we pull their ideas into the frame of the day to make sure that I am conforming to their brief and then we have a few practices at posing some call it an engagement shoot, I just use it a method to place each person at ease, I gain a full understanding of what they prefer at this point. The wedding passes, I edit and upload to a private gallery, after a week has passed the couple receive all their images. If the couple require an Album as part of the package, I ask for a selection of images to work with, each album is designed by me and proofs are provided before print. Once the Album is sanctioned and paid for it usually arrives with in two weeks.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
There are a few that I call the back bone to the story, I am contracted to the couple as a priority, but it is important also to cover photos that maybe Parents or Grandparents wish for.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Shaped group shots, owls with wedding rings,
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Not to worry, your wedding unfolds and it's the one thing that we can't change, we will always have a back up! it hardly ever rains all day.
Describe how you got into photography.
My Father placed a Cannon A1 film camera into my hands when I was a child, he told me to learn to make money with it, I soon left school working for a Commercial Photographer as a studio hand, my main job was to maintain 3 wet processing dark rooms and dry print areas for both Colour and Black and white. We canvased traditionally, dry mounted as well as working with advertising agencies and colour separation agencies.
