What is your most memorable wedding?
Annabelle and Oli's wedding in the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace, London. Their very regal and dignified wedding service was followed by a champagne reception and formal photos at the Naval and Military Club in St. James's Square. It was like photographing a royal wedding!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Romantic, elegant, relaxed, natural, traditional
What about your business are you most proud of?
The service I provide to my clients.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Your wedding day will pass in a flash, so be sure to build in time with your photographer to ensure you get the images you want. I offer a pre-wedding planning meeting to help you do this.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Weddings are bittersweet occasions for a few brides. Having lost a loved one, they remember them with tiny photos as charms on a bracelet or their bouquet. I will always take close-up photos if I'm made aware of these touches for remembrance.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
When you enquire, I'll let you know usually the same working day if I'm free on your chosen wedding date. I'm happy to arrange a zoom call to answer any questions you might have about what I offer while you're choosing your photographer. You can book me by paying your deposit securely online.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The photo that's going to mean most to you in years to come. This might be a romantic portrait of just the two of you but very often it's one that brings together all the generations of your close family. Young children grow up so quickly and, sadly, elderly relatives aren't with us forever. Wedding portraits serve as a family record and, to me, they're some of the most important photos I take.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Annabelle and Oli's wedding Chapel Royal wedding took place on the day Storm Eunice blew through. I took some billowing veil photographs in the courtyard outside the chapel after the service. She wore a cathedral length veil, which took off vertically, yielding me the most original veil photos ever!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
A positive attitude. Chances are, it won't rain solidly all day and we can juggle the timeline to get photos outside later on, if need be. Should the weather dicate, I'm happy to take group portraits indoors. And if you're happy to go out in the rain with me, we can get some interesting artistic effects.
Describe how you got into photography.
A few years ago, a work colleague asked me to photograph her wedding. I really enjoyed the experience, took every opportunity to learn and practise after that, and never looked back.
