Every wedding is memorable but the one that really stands out is my friends wedding. It was my first 'main' wedding and I've known the couple for 10+ years so it was really special that I was able to document their day for them.
Candid, Documentary, natural, timeless, unobtrusive
The fact that I genuinely want to get to know my couples and share in their love for each other. I never thought I'd become a wedding photographer but it's really something I've enjoyed and to see all the love and celebration, it's a wonderful place to work in.
Remember this is about both of you, make time during the day for yourselves, even if it is just a five minute walk away from the rest of the party.
A small charm on the brides bouquet, with pictures of their grandmother who sadly couldn't make the wedding.
Every couple is different but usually a meeting somewhere or a zoom meeting, then an engagement shoot to see if my style matches their own and then regular contact with the couple up to the day.
I don't really think there is a must have photo for every couple. Everyone is unique and if someone wants a certain picture, that's the one we'll make sure to get (i.e a bride really wanted a shot under an archway last year).
The best man being carried in the arms of the groom.
Sadly we can't control the weather, I'll always make sure to have an umbrella in the car, but if its too wet, then we can do some indoor shots and when the rain lightens up, we can go outside for a brief period to get the shots the couple want to get.
I've always been into photography, ever since an early age. One of my fondest early memories was taking a photo of my grandmother on a bench outside her house with a very basic point and click camera from the early 90s.
It's always been in the background growing up, but I never thought I'd get into it professionally until a friend of mine asked me to second shoot for them a few years ago. It's become a long lost love since then again and even when I'm not working, I'm always looking for the next chance to take pictures.
