What is your most memorable wedding?
I arrived at the wedding venue and immediately knew that this was going to be a fun one. The couple had a great sense of humor and had planned a lot of quirky details for their big day.
During the ceremony, the bride couldn't contain her laughter when the groom forgot his vows and started improvising. They both ended up laughing hysterically, which made for some great candid pictures.
Overall, it was a joyous and funny wedding filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. As the photographer, I was honoured to capture it all on camera.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Professional, creative, contemporary, relaxed & unique.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I was honoured to be listed as one of the Top Ten International Wedding Photographers 2022 with The Guild of Photographers.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
My No.1 wedding planning tip for couples is to prioritise communication and organisation throughout the planning process.
Staying organised can help to reduce stress and ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day of the wedding. Create a detailed timeline, keep track of vendor contracts and payments, and delegate tasks to trusted friends or family members if necessary.
Remember, this is your special day, and it's important to enjoy the process as much as the end result. By prioritising communication and organisation, you can make the planning process less stressful and create a wedding that truly reflects your unique love story.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One of the most memorable personal touches I've seen at a wedding was when the couple included a tribute to their parents and grandparents in their vows. They talked about the love stories of their parents and grandparents and how they have influenced their own relationship.
It was a touching moment that brought tears to the eyes of many guests, and it added a deeper meaning to the couple's exchange of vows. It was a beautiful way to honour and recognise the legacy of their families, and it made the wedding feel even more special and heartfelt.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After the initial enquiry we can arrange a consultation to discuss the details of your big day, and you can decide which photography package would suit you best. This can be done in person or over Zoom. If you decide you would like to book me (thank you!), then we can look over the contract and arrange the deposit payment.
On the run up to your big day we can have further meetings if required, arrange the pre wedding photo shoot, finalise the formal photography list and discuss timings for the big day.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I don't think there is 1 photo that would fit with every couple. I work closely with my clients to ensure the photographs reflect their unique personalities and style. That being said there are a few pictures that are requested time and time again; the brolly shot, the long sweeping veil and big sky background to name a few.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I recently photographed a wedding and they had a 'Petting Zoo' with alpacas, pigs, rabbits, ducks and guanine pigs. The bride was a huge animal lover and had always dreamed of taking a photo with an alpaca. She made sure to incorporate this into her wedding photos, and the resulting picture was a fun and quirky addition to her album, capturing her personality and love for animals.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
First of all, don't worry. I always have umbrellas with me, the 'brolly shot' is one of my most requested photographs even if it's not raining. Rain can create some beautiful and dramatic photo opportunities, such as using reflections or incorporating raindrops into the photos.
I always have a 'Plan B' for photography locations in case of wet weather, so you'll stay dry while still getting beautiful wedding photographs.
Above all, embrace the moment. Rain on your wedding day is said to be good luck, don't let it dampen your spirits and enjoy the day regardless of the weather.
Describe how you got into photography.
I've been taking pictures since I was 3 years old, photography has always been important to me and doing it for a living really is a dream job.
