What is your most memorable wedding?
We've had a few that really stand out in our minds..... Driving rain in the middle of the North Yorkshire Moors, allowing us to create a series of images that are truly stand out. A shotgun wedding were we sent the morning on a duck hunt. Being the first photographers that shot at The wellbeing farm for an official wedding. We have been very lucky to be involved in some awesome weddings.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Creative, Passionate, Relaxed, Friendly, Fun.
What about your business are you most proud of?
We get referrals all the time.... and if you get referred from your present clients to new clients then you're doing something right....
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Plan the Wedding YOU want and not the one you think everyone else thinks you should have.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
The Bride and Groom made the button holes for the groomsmen from spent bullet casings... That took a lot of time and they looked great. One brides mum made about a miles worth of double sided machine made bunting for the barn.... (the venue actually bought it off the couple after the wedding)
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Getting to know the coupe is the best way to represent them on the day.... We always like to meet up before booking. After all you need to like us, right?, because you'll be stuck with us ALL day, and if you don't like us then we won't get the best from you....
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
We call it a wall photo. Its just one photo of the bride and groom together, away from the madding crowd. You can have all the candid photos in the World but that one photo that is just the bride and groom is the one that will always stand the test of time....
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
We did one of the first "running away from a dinosaur" photos in the UK... That was original at the time.... We photographed a "first fight" instead of a first dance, again that was very original. Basically our couples aren't afraid to ask us for something different. I love to push the limits of my photography. I have a lot of different skill sets and not a lot of fear....
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Embrace it. Your dress will come clean. Your wedding day won't come again.
Describe how you got into photography.
My dad was a bin man in a very posh area of Bolton and he used to bring me home very expensive cameras that the posh people had thrown away.... I was the only 5 year old with a Hasselblad in Bolton, walking around snapping away.... My auntie was into photography so she showed me the basics and helped me to develop my film.
