Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, especially if you’re not comfortable in front of the camera. Based in Chippenham, Wiltshire, Copper & Blossom Photography, led by Kate, specialises in documentary-style wedding photography designed just for couples like you. Kate’s approach focuses on capturing the real, unscripted moments of your day as they naturally happen. This means your wedding photos will be filled with genuine emotion and authentic connections, letting you relive the joy and laughter every time you look back.
Many couples say they barely noticed Kate during their wedding — and that’s exactly the point. She blends seamlessly into the background, so you can fully enjoy your celebration with friends and family without feeling posed or pressured. Known for being friendly, professional, and calm, Kate often goes the extra mile, whether it’s helping pin on buttonholes or assisting the bride with her dress. Her presence feels more like a supportive friend than just a photographer, helping you feel completely at ease.
Every wedding is unique, and Copper & Blossom Photography offers flexible packages to match your plans — from intimate micro-weddings to full-day coverage of larger events. Based in Wiltshire, Kate regularly photographs weddings across Somerset, Gloucestershire, and the Cotswolds, bringing her expertise wherever your day takes you.
It's such a tricky question to answer - there have been so many! But I will always remember when I reached my 100th wedding. The day was extra emotional and I drove home that night with my eyes full of happy tears!
Joyful. Heartfelt. Vibrant. Natural. Candid.
Truthfully - that I took the time to build my business slowly ensuring that it had strong foundations. It meant that the business had the in-built resilience to adapt during the pandemic and emerge stronger than ever. I've now been in business for nearly 15 years.
Throw the wedding rule-book out of the window - it's your special day so make sure you include personal touches that make YOU happy. It's all very well following the expected wedding traditions but if it doesn't fit in with your plans, don't be scared to ditch them and have the day that you truly want.
I'm always intrigued by table names and what these mean to the couple. I also love to see quirky personal touches on the wedding cake - whether it's a unique cake topper or simply having Spiderman climbing up the back of the cake! Trinkets in bouquets, wearing Granny's veil, personalised cufflinks... the list is more or less endless!
Typically, once an initial enquiry has been made, I like to meet the couple - face to face or via Zoom - so we can make sure we are the right fit. I like to start to get to know my couples as soon as possible to ensure that they feel relaxed being photographed on their big day. Pre-wedding shoots and venue visits offer additional opportunities to chat. In the run-up to the wedding, I am always happy to meet for final consultations if required and am always available via email should they have any questions during their planning journey.
Not a specific photo but I would definitely recommend taking a few minutes away from your guests so that you can grab some photos of just the two of you.
Hmmmm... as the majority of my photos are candid then I don't really have many "out of the ordinary" requests for photos. There was one wedding, however, where they wanted to be chased by the Death Star (added after the wedding using photoshop). On the day, I prepped the couple and got them to "run scared" across the lawn. The guests had no idea what we were doing and their reactions were priceless!
Have some umbrellas to hand and also ensure you have a Plan B (especially if you are planning an outdoor ceremony). Apart from that, just have fun! The weather may prompt a slight change of plan but that doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the company of your closest friends and family! I'm there to document the day and, if that means rain then that's what I document! And if you're happy to venture outside with an umbrella (or not!) for a few snaps then I'm all for it. It often means that you end up with photos that are totally unique!
I have always taken photographs but as for actually getting my photography business off the ground then I suppose I have James Blunt to thank!!! You'll have to read the "about me" section on my website if you want to know more because it's actually rather a long story...!
