What is your most memorable wedding?
Genuinely there is a moment from every wedding that is unique and memorable, some we remember for the emotion of the day and the words mentioned in the speeches, others we remember because of the massive party in the evening and the moves on the dancefloor. It always amazes us how every wedding is so unique, the people, the atmosphere, the details, all of it! We love jumping in to each wedding and take fond memories away from each one of them!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, Relaxed, Genuine, Creative, Thoughtful.
What about your business are you most proud of?
We are proud of the relationships we have built with clients, their families and the occasional pet! We love hearing feedback from our couples after each wedding and knowing we have captured the story of their day for them so that they can sit with the pictures and a glass of wine and relive their day over and over again.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
As photographers we would say our number one tip is to meet your photographer before your wedding. You will spend most of the day with your photographers close by and it is really important that you have somebody that you get on with and can trust. We like to meet all of our couples prior to their day, we head into each wedding knowing our couples and what is important to them, we know from feedback from our previous weddings that this approach is valued highly and helps people to enjoy the day to the fullest!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Recently we spoke with a bride about her unique lobster earrings! “She’s your lobster” this relates to an episode of the popular TV show Friends in which reference is made to lobsters falling in love and been mates for life. This couple were truly made for each other!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We believe the experience with your photographer starts from the moment you get in touch and it is important to get to know each other before your wedding. If your date is available, it begins with an informal chat over the phone or in person where possible. For all weddings we include a pre wedding meeting to discuss all of the unique details for your day, this is a great way to get to know each other so that on the day itself Rachel and I can capture your true personalities while you enjoy every moment with minimal distraction.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
It's so difficult to choose just one but we do love a good confetti photo!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
"Chris, we want pictures of us on the bouncy castle!"
This was simply the best fun, we would highly recommend a bouncy castle for a wedding, it is not for everyone but if you are considering it just say yes!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
We live in England so varied and unpredictable weather is standard, the weather is out of anybody's control so our advice is to just enjoy the day whatever the weather! We bring lighting with us so that if we do need to work indoors we have complimentary lighting available. We will embrace all conditions and use them creatively to our advantage so that you will end up with a collection of photographs to be proud of.
Describe how you got into photography.
Chris - I fell for the craft of photography at school and developed my technical ability at college and university. I was lucky enough to learn photography on film which taught me to capture the moment the first time as there are no second chances. I now work with digital equipment but still value the lessons learnt on film. I love the ability to capture moments in time forever and enjoy getting creative with composition, angle and lighting.
Rachel - Living with Chris and having cameras laying around the house it was inevitable that I would pick one up myself eventually. When our son was born in 2014 I loved photographing him on a daily basis, capturing his milestones and achievements. This has progressed to joining forces with Chris and working together capturing moments for other people as they celebrate their own major milestones in life.
