Chris Semple Photography Full Description
Whether I’m taking portraits of your family or documenting your wedding day, my aim is to listen to you and tailor the experience to best suit you. I genuinely love my wedding couples, getting to know them and be part of their wedding is something special that I don’t take for granted. I will do anything that I can to help you have the most fun and laughter filled wedding day! I love seeing families loosen up in front of my camera, not being afraid to be themselves and hearing afterwards about how delighted they are with their pictures but also how much they enjoyed the photo shoot experience.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

This one sticks out for all the wrong reasons! Going back a few years a had a great wedding, but the Brides mother spilled a whole glass of coke on the wedding dress in the morning when everyone was still having make up done. Then later in the day the bride and groom turned to look at each other and he got poked in the eye with her flowers. Now these were long stem lilies with chopped palm branches and were so sharp that they'd taken a chunk out of his cornea!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Natural, relaxed, romantic, fun, dramatic

What about your business are you most proud of?

In a world where no-one prints their photographs any more, I have created 300 wedding albums for couples, These books are not just a photographic record of one day for the couples but an important family heirloom, a record of the whole family circle for their kids and grandchildren.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Have something really fun for your guests to do between your ceremony and reception. Get them dancing early. Some garden games, hire a magician

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A few years ago the groom, Niall sang "This I promise you" as Jill walked up the aisle behind him. There wasn't a dry eye in the Chapel. If you want to see the video just google "singing groom" Definitely worth a watch!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Everyone is different, and I love being able to offer service tailored individually to my couples.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

A natural one of you both laughing!

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Once I had to get a shot of the groom arriving at the reception by parachute!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

More champagne!, No seriously just move the party indoors forget about the weather and just enjoy yourself and the fact that all your loved ones are in one place!

Describe how you got into photography.

Photography has always been important in my family. There is a photo record of every family gathering thanks to my grandfather and uncles on my Mums side. As a child I was always fascinated by 3 portraits on the wall in my paternal grandparents home of My great great grandfather and his siblings who emigrated to the wild west! I got a proper film SLR camera for my 18th birthday, worked in Jessops the camera shop through University, and took on my first few photography jobs. After Graduating from my design degree I spent a gap year in Canada. 6 months in Banff taking and selling photos on the ski slopes, and 6 months at a summer camp on Vancouver Island teaching kids to film and edit little videos.
