Cherry Red Photography is a Worthing based wedding photography business, covering Sussex and beyond.
Hi. I am Laura. I photograph weddings in a relaxed, natural way and I am very good at blending in whilst also somehow being everywhere at once.
I am slightly crackers. In a good way. I have a big sense of humour, zero awkward energy and a very calm head when timelines wobble. I will gently prompt you when needed, gather people for group photos without it turning into chaos, and then disappear back into the background.
I am here for the real stuff. The belly laughs. The nervous hand squeezes. The chaos. The happy tears. The dance floor carnage. Your photos should feel like your day actually felt, not like you have been pulled out of it for a photoshoot.
Most couples say they felt completely at ease, which is exactly how it should be. You get on with getting married. I will quietly capture it all, probably while crouching behind something or standing on a chair.
For larger weddings, my husband Nick joins as my assistant and second shooter. Having two of us means more coverage, different perspectives and plenty of angles throughout the day.
It is relaxed. It is real. It is a tiny bit bonkers. It works.

What is your photography style?
Relaxed, fun and documentary based with a bit of gentle guidance when needed.
We are definitely not the “stand still and smile for 3 hours” type 😂
We want your wedding to actually FEEL like your wedding, not a photoshoot with occasional snacks.
Expect natural moments, genuine emotion, chaos on the dance floor and probably me hyping you up all day!
What are you like to work with?
Honestly? Most couples say it feels more like having extra mates at the wedding than suppliers.
We blend in, keep things relaxed and help things run smoothly without taking over the day.
Nick spends most weddings carrying camera gear and rescuing buttonholes while I run around hyping everyone up.
Do you help with posing?
A lot of our couples tell us before the wedding that they feel awkward in front of the camera or do not really enjoy having photos taken and honestly...that is completely normal 😂
We felt exactly the same when we got married ourselves in 2023.
The funny thing is though, on the actual wedding day it often feels completely different. Everyone is excited, adrenaline is high and suddenly people who swore they hated photos are dragging us onto the dance floor for “just one more” 😂
When it comes to couples portraits, we keep things really relaxed and unintrusive. If you would love lots of photos together, we can absolutely take you off for little moments throughout the day and create those. If you would rather just sneak away for ten minutes and get back to the party, that is completely fine too.
Every wedding and every couple is different, so we always work around what feels right for you rather than forcing loads of staged photos.
What kind of couples book you?
Honestly, we get a real mix of couples and we LOVE that 😂
But usually the people who book us care far more about having the best day ever than spending hours doing overly posed photos.
They want the real stuff. Big laughs, happy chaos, emotional moments, ridiculous dance floors and photos that actually feel like them and their people.
That said, if you DO want loads of couples photos and can make the time for them in your day, we are absolutely up for that too! We really just follow your lead and work around the kind of wedding experience you want to have.
Some couples want loads of relaxed portraits together, others just want ten minutes then straight back to the party and honestly both are completely fine with us. We try to keep things as natural and unintrusive as possible either way.
What is included when booking with you?
FULL DAY COVERAGE:
Two photographers, loads of coverage, sneak peeks shortly after the wedding, a private online gallery and two humans who genuinely care about you and your day.
Also included: • dress fluffing
• buttonhole fixing
• timeline calming
• emergency problem solving
• professional third wheeling
SHORT DAY COVERAGE:
Pretty much all of the above just condensed into less time and slightly less images at the end.
What makes Cherry Red Photography different?
We are very much real people photographing real weddings.
No copy and paste wedding vibes. No forced cheesy posing. No pretending every wedding has to look identical.
We want your gallery to feel like YOUR people, YOUR atmosphere and YOUR memories.
Also there is a very high chance I will cry during speeches. Professionalism at its finest.
Do you boss people around for group photos?
Only lovingly 😂
We will absolutely organise things when needed because otherwise group photos become 40 relatives wandering off to the bar while someone shouts “WHERE’S UNCLE DAVE?!”
But we try to keep it quick, relaxed and painless for everyone involved.
We also ask you to appoint a helper from your wedding party who knows the majority of guests and family who can help us rally everyone together!
What happens if it rains?
Honestly...it is only a bit of water! 😂
Obviously we can absolutely adapt things if the weather is awful and plenty of beautiful photos can be taken indoors too, but sometimes the best moments happen when couples just go “sod it” and head outside anyway.
It is your wedding day. You are probably already running on adrenaline, excitement and chaos, so half the time you stop caring about the rain within about 30 seconds 😂
Some of our favourite photos have happened in awful weather because people just owned it. Umbrellas, running through rain, cuddling up, windswept hair...it all feels very real and very British honestly.
Unless you are a Mogwai of course. In which case we will avoid getting you wet and also remind everyone not to feed you after midnight!! 🤣
(If you do not get that reference, you are obviously far younger and cooler than us and....it is from Gremlins 😂)
What if we are awkward?
Perfect. Most people are 😂
Honestly, very few couples arrive saying: “GOOD MORNING. WE ARE PROFESSIONAL MODELS.”
It is completely normal to feel nervous at first and a huge part of our job is making things feel relaxed enough that you stop thinking about the camera altogether.
I am also VERY good at directing people without making it feel awkward or overly posey, so please do not worry...we will absolutely guide you through it all 😂
And honestly? Most couples end up saying they actually really enjoyed it in the end, which is always the best compliment.
Do you photoshop images loads?
Nope 😂
(Unless you really want us to.)
You are hiring us to photograph YOU, not create a completely different human.
We edit beautifully and naturally and can absolutely remove temporary things like spots, bruises or distractions, but we are not about making people look completely unrecognisable.
That said, we CAN usually help with little tweaks afterwards if needed. For example if Auntie Bridget blinked in photo 755 but looked fabulous in 756, there is a very high chance I can perform a tiny bit of Photoshop wizardry and swap her head over 🤣
If there are specific images you would like something adjusted on afterwards, just ask us. We are always happy to help where we can.
Honestly though, half the magic is capturing people as they really were on the day. Chaos, emotions, windswept hair and all.
