I photograph weddings for couples who care more about real moments than perfect poses. The big laughs, the happy tears, the chaos on the dance floor and all the little in-between bits you didn’t even realise were happening.
I’m based in Staffordshire and I specialise in working with couples who feel a bit awkward in front of the camera (honestly, most people do!). My job is to help you feel comfortable, relaxed and able to enjoy your day - not worrying about what to do with your hands or how to smile.
My approach is mostly documentary-style, which means I capture your day as it naturally unfolds. I’m always looking for genuine emotion and connection, rather than anything staged or forced. I’ll gently direct when it comes to portraits, but nothing stiff or overly posed - just simple guidance so you look like yourselves.
From our first chat right through to delivering your gallery, I keep things easy, personal and stress-free. Couples often tell me they felt completely at ease having me around, which is exactly how it should be. I want you to feel like I’m part of the day, not someone with a camera directing it.
Your photos won’t just show what your wedding looked like. They’ll take you straight back to how it felt.
I’m Charlotte, an award-winning wedding photographer with over 10 years of experience. When I’m not photographing weddings, I’m usually outside with my family, soaking up fresh air and appreciating the everyday moments, which probably explains why I’m so drawn to the real, unscripted parts of a wedding day.
If this sounds like your kind of approach, I’d love to hear about your plans.
One of my most memorable weddings was for a couple where the groom played rugby - the energy was unreal from start to finish. It was one of those weddings where everyone was completely all-in, and it was such a joy to be part of.
Some standout moments included the groom and groomsmen revealing the budgie smugglers they’d been hiding under their suits, the bride being thrown into the air in celebration, and the groomsmen wrapping her dress in an old sheet and escorting her with umbrellas through the rain to the church. Add in a beautifully choreographed first dance and a champagne spray that turned into a full-on shower for the bridal party, and it’s a day I’ll never forget!
Relaxed, natural, fun, friendly, authentic.
What I’m most proud of is the trust couples place in me to capture something that truly lasts. Every heartfelt thank you or review still gives me that warm, giddy feeling, because it means I’ve done my job properly. Knowing my photos will be looked back on for years to come, shared with family and friends, and become part of a couple’s story is a real honour - and it genuinely makes me feel like I have the best job in the world.
Keep your formal group shot list short and sweet! Unless you plan on printing every combination for your walls, prioritize the people closest to you. Even with the best-behaved guests, rounding people up takes a huge chunk out of your cocktail hour. By keeping the list minimal, you get more time to actually mingle with your loved ones - and it gives me more freedom to capture those genuine, candid moments you’ll cherish forever.
I’m a huge fan of involving pets in your big day! While it isn’t always practical to have pets at the venue, one of my favorite touches was a couple who honoured their cat through their cocktail menu. They created a signature drink named after him, complete with custom rice paper illustrations of his face floating on top! It was a brilliant, stress-free way to include a family member who couldn't be there in person, and the guests loved their fancy-looking tipples!
From the moment you book, I’m your go-to resource for all things wedding-related! I provide a clear timeline of what to expect so you never feel in the dark. About a month before the big day, we’ll have a video call to finalise your schedule and get comfortable with each other so that on the day, I feel like a friend with a camera. I know the post-wedding wait is the hardest part, so I send over a preview gallery within a few days, followed by your full, high-resolution story 6–8 weeks later.
The 'Just Married' escape. My No.1 recommendation is for couples to take 10 minutes away from the crowd to simply be together. Whether it’s a stroll through the grounds or a quiet moment in a hidden corner of your venue, that photo of you both finally soaking in the fact that you’re married is always the most genuine. It’s less about the 'pose' and more about the two of you, away from the hustle and bustle.
The most original (and hilarious) request was from a groom’s family who wanted some 'candid bar photos.' It quickly escalated from casual drinks to the groom lying on the floor while his dad poured a beer from head-height into his mouth! It was absolute chaos, beer went everywhere, and the photos were pure gold. I love it when families let their hair down and ask for shots that represent their real, unfiltered personalities.
Embrace it! Some of my most cinematic and romantic images have been captured in the rain. Don’t worry about the hem of your dress getting a little dirty. The mud will wash out, but the memories of you two laughing under an umbrella or running through the rain will last forever. Rain creates a beautiful, soft light that you just don't get on a sunny day - so if it pours, let’s go outside and make some magic!
Photography started as a childhood hobby, spent exploring the outdoors for wildlife and landscape shots. But I eventually realized that as beautiful as nature is, it doesn't compare to the raw emotion of people. I discovered that the thrill of capturing a fleeting look or a burst of laughter was addictive; and these unique moments led me straight into weddings. I swapped the wildlife for the aisle and haven’t looked back - there’s simply nothing better than the adrenaline of 'getting the shot' and knowing it will be cherished for a lifetime.
