What is your most memorable wedding?
There's never been anything like a pandemic wedding, I think the very few that went ahead will stay in my mind forever! My favourite and most memorable was one of my best friends wedding at Hyde house. It rained a lot, but then the most perfect golden hour came out of it.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, Natural, Colourful, Heartfelt, Documentary style photography.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am most proud of how my photography has developed to what it is today.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't forget to take a few moments together to take it all in.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I really love details, one of my favourites was a small picture on a bouquet of grandparents who had passed. It was subtle, but a beautiful way to remember them on the day.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I think it is so important to meet each other before making your booking final. If you aren't local this can be via Zoom. Ideally it is nice to meet at the venue, take a walk around and have a coffee. Once booked in there is a deposit payment to secure your date. Then I like to check in before the wedding and make sure of the timeline and if there's anything I need to keep in mind to capture. I then capture your big day as naturally as possible with a few group shots and the final images will be delivered within 6 weeks. This is via online gallery, the USB can take up to 8weeks.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I love flash photography at night if there's a particular part of the venue (usually outside) that works for this. It creates a really striking image and is often the last shot I take before I leave after the first dance.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
I have white umbrellas and we can take photos in sheltered areas - under trees or gazebos ect. If we need to we can find a space indoors but I recommend for any wedding, limiting the amount of group photos. You don't want this to take hours of your day so I recommend limit it to bridal party, parents, siblings, and grandparents. After this only one Full group shot. But particularly if it rains, it's harder to do hundreds of group shots, so make sure you lay out just a few smaller groups of Immediate family.
Describe how you got into photography.
It started when I was 14. I don't draw well, or have patience to paint, but I have a creative vision and photography became my artistic outlet. I discovered portraiture at 18 and didn't look back. I dedicated my college and university education to photography and have achieved a BA hons Degree in this field. I accidentally fell into Newborn photography when I started my career, but I always wanted to shoot weddings and it's something I won't let go of.
