Hi, I’m Katie - the photographer behind Captured by KDW, based in the North West and photographing weddings across the UK.
My approach is relaxed, natural and documentary-led with an editorial edge. I’m there to capture your wedding as it actually feels - the big emotions, the little glances, the laughter, the people you love and everything happening in between.
Your wedding isn’t a photoshoot, and I don’t want it to feel like one. I’ll give you gentle direction when you need it, help you feel comfortable in front of the camera and blend into the background when you don’t. No hours spent posing and no forced moments - just beautiful photographs that feel like you.
As a recent bride myself, I know first-hand how quickly the day flies by and how important it is to actually enjoy it. My job is to make capturing it feel like an effortless part of your day.
I offer everything from intimate wedding coverage through to full-day storytelling, with professionally edited high-resolution images, a private online gallery and sneak peeks within 48 hours.

What is your photography style?
My style is relaxed, natural and documentary-led with an editorial edge. I focus on capturing real moments as they happen, while giving you gentle direction when you need it. The aim is for your photos to feel like your wedding day actually felt - not like one long photoshoot.
We’re awkward in front of the camera - is that okay?
Absolutely. Most couples tell me this before their wedding. I’ll never leave you wondering what to do - I’ll give you simple prompts and direction when needed, but I’ll also give you space to just be yourselves. Nothing forced, nothing overly posed.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes! I’m based in the North West, but I’m happy to travel across the UK for weddings. Travel outside my usual area may involve an additional travel or accommodation fee, which I’ll always make clear before you boo
How do we secure our wedding date?
Your date is secured once your booking contract is signed and the non-refundable booking fee has been paid. Until then, dates remain available to other couples.
How long will it take to receive our photos?
You’ll receive a small selection of sneak peeks within 48 hours of your wedding, with your full edited gallery delivered afterwards via a private online gallery.
Do you offer different lengths of coverage?
Yes. I offer options for intimate weddings, part-day coverage and full wedding days, so you can choose the coverage that works best for your plans. If you’re not sure how many hours you need, I’m always happy to help.
Can we have group photos as well as candid images?
Of course. Although my style is mainly natural and documentary-led, I’ll always make time for the important family and group photographs you want. I just like to keep them relaxed and efficient so you can get back to enjoying your day.
Do you offer a second photographer?
Yes, a second photographer can be added depending on your wedding and coverage. It can be especially useful for larger weddings, multiple locations or when you’d like both sides of the morning preparations captured.
Do you provide RAW or unedited images?
No. Every image you receive is carefully selected and professionally edited in my signature style, so RAW or unedited files aren’t supplied.
Are you insured and do you have backup equipment?
Yes. I photograph weddings using professional equipment with backup camera bodies, lenses, memory cards and batteries, so I’m prepared if something unexpected happens on the day.
