Capital Wedding Photography Full Description
James Christie has been photographing weddings since 1981. We use the very best Nikon DSLR cameras and Nikon Lenses. We use Profoto B1 Off Camera Flash (the very best in the industry) to capture dramatic and unique photographs that will wow your friends and family. We take our wedding photography business seriously, it isn't a hobby, this is how we pay our bills. We are very professional, we won't show up to your special day wearing jeans and a t-shirt! We dress for the occasion - "The most important day of your life". James' work has been published in just about every major newspaper and magazine around the world, including: Vogue, Tatler, Harper's Bazaar, Town & Country, even featured on David Bowie's web site. We meet with you 3 times before your special day, we get to know you, we develop a trust, in order that you can rest assured that all you need do is focus on your special day. We scout your wedding venue far in advance of your wedding date, we look for the best settings to get the best shots of you and your partner and your guests. We have three packages available, starting at just £1,000, which are detailed on our web site http://www.jameschristiephotography.com We make ourselves available to you at your beck and call, prior to and after the wedding. One of the best compliments James ever received was that a couple who were married in 1982 (James did their wedding, shot on film back then) asked James to photograph their daughter's wedding in 2011. We think that speaks volumes about James' experience and quality of work. please feel free to email James at [email protected] with any questions that you may have.

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Your one!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Innovative Professional Dynamic Patient Proud

What about your business are you most proud of?

The fact that I have been photographing weddings since 1981

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Start planning now....don't leave it until the last minute.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I did a wedding on a beach once and the Bride's neighbour secretly brought the couple's German Shepherd to the ceremony, much to the couple's delight and surprise!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We meet in a relaxed and informal setting. We discuss which wedding package is right for them. We draw up a formal contract and then between the contract being signed and the wedding, we will meet twice again to further develop the relationship.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The first kiss after the vows.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

About 5 years ago, we had a fleeting moment, at the reception, where the sky suddenly turned orange due to the sun setting and hitting the underbelly of the clouds....a stunning shot!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Lots of brightly coloured umbrellas.

Describe how you got into photography.

As an adult, I began photographing weddings basically because I was drawn to the open and honest display of emotions. I consider myself a ‘seeker of truth’ at weddings – searching passionately for those intimate moments between loved ones. This search has not only defined my style of photography, but has also guided my passion and become the driving force behind what I consider my greatest obsession. I’ve had the extreme honour of photographing weddings for couples from all over the world and each one of them proves to me time and time again what a wonderful gift this has been. Each and every wedding I’ve photographed has given me the opportunity to bear witness and play a part in the most near and dear moments in a couple’s life together. I have often been asked how I find these rare and special moments between a couple. The answer is simple – I am not content to see with just my eyes. I see with my heart because that is where I find connection. That is where I find truth. And that is where I find love.
