FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Photographing the great Granddaughters wedding of PG Wodehouse and the groom was not as yet divorced from his previous wife - this was within the first 7 wedding we ever photographed. We wondered for ages when the next Bigamist was coming along. It all worked out in the end....we read about it in the Times!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Wonderful people, fabulous photography, creative thinkers, sensitive individuals, passionate professionals.

What about your business are you most proud of?

We have photographed so many fabulous weddings and given a little something from ourselves to so many brides and grooms histories since we began all those years ago.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't live and breathe the planning for too long. It will almost certainly make you blind to what is good and bad and you will worry about everything when the day comes.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

The bride and grooms florist failed to show. The morning of the wedding the bride her mum and maid of honor made all the flowers using local wild flowers and cow parsley. They didn't panic. It looked English and simply wonderful.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We meet all our couples before they book with us to discuss their requirements from the photography and ensure that we are all reading from the same page regarding our specific style and working method. We never pressure at any stage in the booking process. Later we may do a pre wedding photography session closer to the time of the wedding taking the time to chat all the finer details of the day through. We photograph the wedding basically the same way we would want our wedding photographed. Afterwards, everything is edited, colour corrected and online usually within 7 days of the wedding taking place. If an album is included we wait for the couple to pick the photographs from their supplied Hi res files, we then meet again to show several album styles and do all the design for them within an allotted time. We are very hands on from the first meeting to the end delivery of the final album or Disc of images.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

A beautiful portrait when they are finally married, madly in love and where they look like they belong together.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

We get asked to take a lot of tried and tested chestnuts if anything, (sorry that's a little sad) the most common thing people want is for us to step back and observe which we like to do....and then we step forward to get our take on classic shots or contemporary stylings. You can't reinvent the wheel but you can style the alloys in new ways that look fabulous.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Patience to wait for the rain to stop. It usually always will stop. In the 650 odd weddings we have done only 2 have rained all day and evening. Failing that 3 cream umbrellas and a willingness to go outside if its raining only a little. It can be really good fun...... Or lastly just a great venue that can cope with people being inside but still have a little space for photography. Ohhhh and the photographer will need to know how to creatively use whatever light is available to them including their flash guns.

Describe how you got into photography.

Heather studied documentary photography and I studied design photography and then worked for magazines and studios for 5 years.
