I’m Ben, a Kent-based wedding photographer with over 15 years of experience and more than 500 weddings photographed. I’m proud to have over 100 five-star Google reviews and multiple wedding industry awards — but what matters most to me is helping couples feel relaxed and completely themselves on their wedding day.
My approach is documentary-led and unobtrusive. I focus on genuine moments as they unfold rather than stiff poses or forced smiles. From emotional glances during the ceremony to the energy on the dance floor, I aim to capture the atmosphere and story of your day exactly as it feels.
Couples often tell me they barely noticed I was there — yet every important moment was captured. I work calmly and confidently in the background, stepping in gently when needed for beautiful, natural portraits and family photographs.
Full-day coverage includes a second photographer at no extra cost, professionally edited high-resolution images delivered via a private online gallery with unlimited downloads, and clear guidance throughout the planning process so nothing is missed.
I’m based in Canterbury and photograph weddings across the South East, East Anglia and throughout the UK — and I’m always happy to travel for destination weddings.
It’s hard to choose just one, because every wedding I photograph is completely different. Each couple brings their own personalities, family dynamics and energy to the day, and that’s what makes it so special.
For me, the most memorable moments are often the quiet, unscripted ones, a parent’s reaction during the ceremony, a private smile between the couple, or laughter that fills the room unexpectedly. Those are the memories that mean the most years later.
My role isn’t just to take photographs; it’s to preserve those moments so my couples can relive how their day felt, not just how it looked.
Calm, Authentic, Documentary, Warm, Timeless.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my couples place in me. Photographing over 500 weddings and receiving more than 100 five-star reviews is incredibly rewarding, but what means the most is knowing I’ve created something that genuinely matters to people.
Hearing couples say they felt completely relaxed and able to enjoy their day, and that their photos bring those memories back years later, is what makes this job so special to me.
My number one tip is to remember that the day is about the two of you, not perfection. The moments you’ll treasure most aren’t the perfectly planned details, but how it felt to be surrounded by the people you love.
Build a timeline that gives you space to breathe, spend time together, and actually enjoy it. The more relaxed you feel, the more natural and beautiful your photographs will be.
One of my favourite personal touches was when a couple included handwritten letters to each of their guests, placed at their seats during the reception. It was such a simple idea, but incredibly meaningful, you could see how much it meant to everyone.
It’s always the thoughtful, personal details that reflect who a couple truly are that make a wedding feel special. Those are the touches that create genuine emotion — and the most powerful photographs.
From our first conversation, my aim is to make the process feel effortless and reassuring. We’ll begin with a relaxed phone or Zoom call so I can understand your plans, priorities and the atmosphere you want to create. It’s important to me that we feel like the right fit from the very start.
Once you decide to move forward, your date is secured with a straightforward booking process and clear communication throughout. In the lead-up to the wedding, we’ll have a detailed pre-wedding consultation to refine timings and ensure everything flows naturally.
On the day itself, I work calmly and unobtrusively, capturing genuine moments as they unfold while guiding you gently when needed. After your wedding, each image is carefully edited and delivered through a private online gallery with unlimited downloads, allowing you to relive and share your day with ease.
If I had to choose one, it would be a quiet moment of just the two of you — whether that’s a natural, unscripted glance during the ceremony or a relaxed portrait just after you’ve said “I do.”
There’s something incredibly special about that point in the day. The nerves have settled, the excitement is building, and you finally have a moment together. I love capturing both the genuine, in-between expressions and a beautiful, effortless portrait that reflects how it truly felt.
Those are the images that couples tell me they return to most — because they capture not just how the day looked, but how it felt.
One of the most original (and memorable!) requests I’ve had was to include the couple’s dog in as many moments as possible throughout the day. From walking down the aisle to joining us for portraits, he was very much part of the celebration.
It wasn’t about creating something dramatic — it was about capturing what genuinely mattered to them. I love when couples bring their personalities, pets and personal touches into the day, because those are the images that feel the most authentic and meaningful.
Honestly, don’t panic, some of my favourite images have been taken on rainy days. The light is often softer and more flattering, and it can create a beautifully atmospheric feel.
I always have a plan B for portraits, whether that’s using elegant indoor spaces, covered areas, or simply embracing the rain with a couple of clear umbrellas for a few relaxed shots.
Rain rarely affects the story of the day, if anything, it adds character. With the right mindset and preparation, it can make your photographs even more memorable.
I’ve been passionate about photography since school, where I first began experimenting with film and developing my own images. I went on to study art at degree level, deepening my understanding of light, composition and how to tell a story through images.
After university, I spent time travelling with my camera always close by, documenting people, places and everyday moments around the world. That experience shaped the way I approach weddings today — paying attention to the small, in-between moments that often mean the most.
What started as a passion has grown into a career built around capturing moments that hold real meaning long after the day itself.
