I would say my most memorable wedding was the first wedding I ever photographed! The whole aesthetic of the wedding was so unique, with all the groomsmen dressed in dapper clothes with suspenders and Doc Martins; even the Groom had embroidered detail in his jacket with read "I'm a f***ing vegan". I absolutely loved how authentic and personal the entire day was and had so much fun partying with the guests at the reception!
Ethereal, intimate, fairytale, candid, documentary
I am most proud of how much I have grown over such a short space of time. Looking back at the beginning of my photography journey is so humbling for me and not a day goes by where I don't pinch myself, because I am literally living my dream life!
Find time to relax in amongst the chaos. It is so important to not burn yourself out or put too much pressure on yourself to hold the most idillic wedding ever - remember that your wedding day is a day to celebrate your love between each other, so make sure you are finding time to be together and be in love during the entire process!
I recently shot a wedding where the bridal table featured the most beautiful little crystal mushrooms and a crystal ball with an entire solar system inside; I thought these little touches were absolutely amazing (I'm an avid crystal collector, so it definitely caught my eye)!
I love to reach out to my couples and see if they want to hop on a zoom or phone call to discuss things further; I think it is so important to put a face or voice to a name. I also have a serious obsession with taking couples out for pre-shoots before the wedding day, as this gives us a chance to break the ice, get to know one another and feel more comfortable in front of the camera. You can guarantee that working with me will always include some element of outdoors and adventure. I love to incorporate flowers, colours and light into my images to encapsulate the beauty of the love shared between my couples and encourage play in all of my photos!
If you have a veil, get under it - the material captures light in the most beautiful manner and there's this kind of intimacy that you just can't capture without a veil. Honestly, whenever I see a bride in a veil, I get so excited and can't wait to get creating!
I have a drone and was requested to capture the reception venue and all of the wedding guests. The venue was a big circus tent in a field, so I organised all of the guests to stand in a heart shape whilst the Bride and Groom danced in the middle of the guests - such a fun and creative way to get a different perspective of their day!
To just have fun with it and remember that all weather is beautiful. I have a see-through umbrella that looks really cute in rainy photos, but always recommend that my couples are prepared for the weather with their own umbrellas and wellies if they want to wear them. It's also a great idea to have a beautiful jacket that the bride can wear, so that you do not get too cold or wet! I've captured beautifully intimate moments in the rain, so if you're down for getting a bit wet and sinking your toes into some puddles, we can really have some fun in unexpected weather!
I first picked up a camera when I was 16 (it was my sweet sixteenth birthday prezzie) and I fell in love with the creativity of it! Sadly, it was put to one side for several years whilst I explored other creative subjects, but as soon as I left university I found myself magnetised towards photography again. I bought a drone which opened up this entirely new perspective to the world and I've got to say that the first drone flight was the moment when I realised that I really adored photography. I didn't actually want to create a career out of it until I started taking self portraits and now it's something that I really don't know how I could live without it!
