What is your most memorable wedding?
It's really hard to pick just one, but I always enjoy rustic barn weddings, or weddings in marquees. I love to see how each couple put their own spin on a blank canvas! There was one in a little village hall that was a converted barn, which had some gorgeous pops of yellow to brighten up a drizzly day, the flowers, bridesmaids dresses and even the bride's dress brought a lot of sunshine to the day!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Timeless, relaxed, natural, fun, bright
What about your business are you most proud of?
I love the fact that I can document the most special moments in couples lives, and capture the joy and happiness of a wedding day.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
As a recent bride myself, I know what you're going through! Make lots of lists! (I love lists!) And try not to stress about the little things, everything will come together on the day!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A wedding I shot at recently had a Star Wars theme running throughout the whole day! It wasn't really obvious or too geeky, but incorporated into all the other pretty details and elements of the day. They walked out of the ceremony to the Star Wars theme, all their tables were named after Star Wars characters, there were lightsabers on the dancefloor (some AMAZING evening shots!) and the cake was totally epic - Han Solo and Princess Leia on top, and characters depicted in icing on the back!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once you've booked me (I ask for a 40% booking fee and return of a couple of forms) we'll be in touch to arrange your engagement shoot - this is offered complimentary in both of my packages. Once we've had the engagement shoot I provide all images on an online gallery for you to download. Then, depending on your location, we'll have a pre-wedding consultation 6 weeks before the wedding where we'll go through the day plan and I'll note down all the info of how the day will run and any specific thing you'd like me to capture. I always like to have a quick phone call in the week before the wedding too, to make sure everything's running smoothly and check if there are any last minute changes to the plan!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I think if it's possible to do it logistically, getting a confetti shot is a fantastic addition to the album.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I mentioned this above but I'd say capturing shots of the bride and groom with lightsabers is a pretty unusual one!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
A lovely white umbrella! Seriously, they make for some lovely shots snuggled up under a brolly!
Describe how you got into photography.
I've always loved photography from a really young age - my parents used to give me disposable cameras to take photos, and I recently found an album of pictures I took at Disneyland Paris - aged 4! Photographs have always been important to me as I grew up, I loved to take my camera everywhere with me. Then when I got married I loved the whole world of weddings so much that it was a natural progression to move into wedding photography! I love having the opportunity to share such a special day in so many people's lives, and to create special images that will be treasured for years to come.
