What is your most memorable wedding?
My own, even though it was 30 years ago!!
What about your business are you most proud of?
The enjoyment that my clients get & will continue to get for many years from my artwork.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Book your photographer early - we get booked up well in advance! On top of making sure that you get the photographer that you want, we're probably the supplier that will be with you for the longest time on your special day. We can help plan out the day, working with you & your venue contact to make sure that your programme allows enough time for the photography that you want without taking over the day or disrupting the flow.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A Bride who wore her mother's wedding dress - definitely ticked the " something old" box with that one & a lovely, personal thing to do. Looked very different from when Mum wore it many years previously but totally unique!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After an initial enquiry, the next step is to meet to discuss what you're looking for & how we can help achieve it. After that, you'll confirm your booking & from there on in, we'll speak as regularly as you need whilst you're planning your day to make sure that your photography fits into the day as unobtrusively as possible. Closer to the big day, we'll have another meeting to check final times, agree final shoot list & probably have a brief "engagement shoot" - just to get us used to working with each other. Once the day is done & images captured, they get personal attention to make sure that they're all beautifully finished, ready for review & for you to select the images that you'd like in your album. Alternatively, if you're happy for me to prepare a first draft for you, I'll do that. Whatever route we take, you'll have a preview to approve before your album goes for print. We'll also need to discuss finishing things like cover options, etching etc.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
An informat portrait of just the two of you - it is your day after all!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
One Bride wanted to have a shot with her horse!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Don't worry about it - you can't do anything about it anyway ( Rained on my wedding day for a solid 30 hours - we still had a great day!). Concentrate on enjoying your day. I'll have a "plan B" on how we can get the shots as I'll have visited the venue beforehand ( if it's not one that I know) to scope out options; meet with your co-ordinator etc
Describe how you got into photography.
It's been a passion of mine since being relatively young. Indeed, you might even say it's a genetic thing as my Dad was a keen amateur photographer!
