What is your most memorable wedding?
Our own...
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, Relaxed, Unobtrusive, Creative, Alternative.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Probably our approach and the relationships we build with our clients. We're not saying we invite people over for Sunday lunch or anything like that, but we always try our best to form some sort of little friendship with all of our clients, because in reality, they'll be inviting us along to one of the most special days of their lives, and we want them to enjoy having us there. If they're happy to have us around, they're comfortable just ignoring us and letting us do our stuff, and tend to smile at us when they do notice us, which always makes for a better photograph.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't get carried away with 'tradition', you're not obliged to do all the stuff the magazines and blogs tell you to, concentrate on what's important to you both and make it the day you want it to be. If you don't want to cut a cake, don't. If you want to wear trainers, be comfy. If you don't feel the need to invite your Mum's neighbours, leave them off the list. Different stuff is important to different people, you do you.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We chat, we share some examples of complete weddings so a couple has an idea of the full coverage we provide. We chat some more, sometimes with coffee, now and again with cake. We hear about the couples plans and what they might want from their photography. It's good to meet in person if that's practical, that way we get to know each other which makes everything a bit more natural and comfortable on the day. We also include a pre wedding shoot with every booking, not mandatory but a great way to get to know each other a little better and then we catch up a bit closer to the wedding.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
The one they feel comfortable being in.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
A sense of humour and an umbrella. Wellies if it's biblical.
