What is your most memorable wedding?
I love all the weddings I photograph, and there are always little moments that stay with me. Some favourites have been the groom playing with the Royal Scots Guards, a bride's tears announcing her pregnancy in the speeches, and the groomsmen dancing into the wedding breakfast!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Romantic, natural, unobtrusive, beautiful and creative.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Making all my couples happy when they re-live their wedding day through my images.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Remember it is your day, go with your instincts and create a day that celebrates your love.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A bride and groom made all their own table and venue decorations, including hearts made from conkers as it was an autumn wedding, and all the guests had collected the conkers for them the year before. It was so cute! I have also love it when the bride gives a speech too.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I always offer to meet with all my couples at first, so that we can talk together about their day, and what they want from their wedding photography. This also gives us time to look over some of my albums over coffee and cake!
If you choose to have an engagement photoshoot then we will spend an hour together at a location we choose together, getting lots of lovely natural images of you both together, celebrating your love. Whoop!
This is also an opportunity to have a further chat about your wedding day, though you are welcome to contact me any time before your day to ask any questions you may have. If I do not know your venue, I like to visit it before your day and start imagining your day and images we can create together.
On your wedding day I work in an unobtrusive way, taking photographs in the moment, from getting ready until the evening dancing.
After your wedding day, you will receive your images on USB and also be able to share them online if you wish to. If you are having an album, then we design this collaboratively, so I can make sure it beautifully tells the story of your day, and has your most favourite images in there too.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I will always love taking the walking up the aisle shot, and the love in everyone's faces.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Each wedding is unique, so is full of original moments, though at one wedding I was especially asked to photograph the family teddy getting ready with the bride, and at another I photographed the groom playing guitar in his own band for the evening music, not usually where you find the groom during the dancing!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Embrace it! I have gorgeous wedding umbrellas, get some pretty wellies incase, or just get carried by your other half! I love photographing in the rain.
Describe how you got into photography.
Photography is in my blood, I have always loved it, since playing in my dad's darkroom as a child, and have developed that skill ever since.
