Artisan Weddings Full Description
Your wedding is a unique narrative and it deserves to be preserved. I am interested in giving you proof of the real stuff - the quirky signs of life between you and your partner, you messing about with your pals, the kids playing, drunk aunties. I establishing a trusting relationship with you before the big day so we all know what to expect and so you feel completely comfortable. Documenting the feel and flow of a wedding, both it’s dramatic peaks and small moments of charm, beauty and emotion requires subtlety, empathy and the professional skills to tell a story in pictures. Let’s make art together - it’ll be fantastic!

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

This is too difficult a question to answer. Simply because there have been so many!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Contemporary, skilled, artisan, committed, sophisticated

What about your business are you most proud of?

I am most proud of being invited to be part of a day that will be remembered for generations through my work.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Make a plan to take 10-20 minutes just to yourselves on the day.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Some Like it Hot being projected onto the side of a light house beside the Irish Sea.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

After a couple makes contact, we arrange to meet for a coffee/drink to have a chat about what their expections for their photography would be. We discuss a pre wedding shoot, details for the day, a pre wedding venue visit and anything else that comes up on the day. We can meet again nearer the time if anything else comes up. On the day, I will be inconspicuous, but will be there to give you direction when needed. After the wedding I will process your pictures, then we will meet up again. If you decide to have an album made, we will choose which photographs you would like to have in it. All very straight forward!

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

For me, there are two answers to this question. One of the most important shots is the group photograph (and not always a typical one) because it will be something you will value as the years go on. Also, a beautifully staged shot of the bride and groom. Most of my photography is informal, but these two photographs are worth posing for.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

I was asked to take a photograph from a seaplane of the guests on the lawn at the brides family home.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Because of our climate, I am very experienced in rainy day weddings and I personally love the light and reflections that a day like this can bring. I would say to anyone on their wedding day, if it rains don’t worry - go with the day as it is..

Describe how you got into photography.

My mum bought me my first film camera at 12. I became fascinated by photography. While studying at art college, I paid my way by working for an international press agency. This led to working on TV and Film and to my International fine art practice.
