What is your most memorable wedding?
We have done so many weddings that are all unique and amazing but the most memorable one has to be at the OBE Chapel of St. Paul's Cathedral. The scariest moment of our career was preparing to move all the tourists off the iconic steps at the front of the cathedral to get the "money shot" of all the wedding guests on those steps. Thankfully Mrs Angelic is loud and quite bossy and we managed to prepare the shot very quickly - even if it did make us feel like celebrity photographers.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, Friendly, Classic, Contemporary, Flexible
What about your business are you most proud of?
Our reputation. When couples comment on how friendly we are, that it is like handing cameras to good friends and that we hekped out so much throughout the day it warms our hearts and makes us realise we are doing something right.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
If you don't click with your photographer at first contact walk away! They will spend more time with you on the big day that you will spend with your new spouse and if they annoy you before they big day they will definitely annoy you by the end of it.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We have seen some amazing venues, ideas and decor but one that stands out is a Star Wars themed wedding with an Astronaut Juke Box!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
From first point of contact to beyond we are always available to our couples for help, advice or general jollity. Booking is an online process that takes a few minutes. Once we receive your booking request we will send the relevant paperwork out to you and your booking is confirmed once we receive your deposit.
A month or so before the wedding we confirm all the details and collect your list of formal shots you would like (If you would like them) and on the day itself we are there for our couples in any way necessary....from chauffeuring, helping with dresses and suits, tips for how to carry flowers and so much more.
After the day Mr Angelic does the after work including any editing that needs doing and we aim to have photos back with our couples within a month - usually achieving this with time to spare
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
This is a toughie.....obviously we recommend couples' photos and whole group shots but the most poignant ones are the ones taken with those extra special people in your lives - a grandparent, friend who has travelled around the world to be with you, your children or pet.....these are the photos that ooze the most warmth and capture the essence of love.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Our most original photo? Well we have captured a couple having a light sabre fight during their first dance and another in the lorokeet house in Bristol Zoo as well as a whole raft of interesting and quirky photos in between.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
We are British and the weather is one of the most talked about subjects ever and with this in mind we are always prepared for altering plans to capture the story of the day. Be flexible - if you stress about the fact it is raining it will detract from enjoying the day and that would be such a shame with all the hard work put into each wedding.
Describe how you got into photography.
Mr and Mrs Angelic had very simple beginnings - Mrs Angelic was a karaoke Jockey and Mr Angelic, although very interested in cameras, was making his living DJing at weddings until a chance meeting on a DJ forum brought them together and “Angelic Group” was created to encompass the DJing that they were both doing but also to develop (see what we did there) our love of memories via the medium of photography until we were both able to stop the music and concentrate fully on the photos and we had a name change - to “Angelic Photo”.
We have captured so many emotions over the years and made so many friends that we continue to love our work and are always humbled by the positive comments that are made about us. Mrs Angelic especially loves the hustle and bustle of bride prep, the lacing of dresses, doing up of shoes, fastening of jewellery, the pinning of corsages and button holes and can often be seen as an island of relative calm in a sea of activity whilst Mr Angelic is often found cajoling the groomsmen into their suits, doing up cravats and cufflinks all whilst both capturing photos of the creativity that is preparation for a wedding.
The memories that we have ourselves from some of the weddings we have captured carry us onward and upward to be the very best that we possibly can be because we know and understand that we only get one chance to get it right and we want to continue to create memories, make friends and make people happy for now and way into the future.
After all - who needs a normal job when the craziness and capers that we get up to continue to make us smile and laugh as well as getting paid for it?
