Andrew Roberts Weddings Full Description
I supply all my fully edited photographs on a personalised USB drive, along with a private online gallery. I also provide albums and prints. I think it may be safe to say that I live and breathe photography, when there isn’t a camera in my hand, I’m reading about the greats or catching up on the latest techniques. If after all that I have any spare time you’ll probably find me binge-watching Netflix or Star Wars movies. Heaven forbid that I should head out of the house without at least one camera. I’m the guy that took 7KGs of camera equipment on a city break to Prague, when all I had was 10KG baggage allowance. I’m not the photographer that was handed a camera at an early age and has spent the past 25 years taking photographs, but I have spent the past 10 years more than catching up! I started my professional photography career in a studio shooting family sessions and commercial material; something that I loved dearly but something inside me was looking for a challenge. It was through the studio owner that I shot my first wedding, as a favour for a friend, and despite those initial nerves I knew instantly that this was exactly what I wanted to be shooting from that moment forward and I haven’t looked back. I know it sounds like a cliché, but wedding photography is so much more than a job for me, I get a massive amount of job satisfaction in presenting couples with beautiful wedding photographs that they’re going to love and enjoy for the rest of their lives. When I first started out I outlined what I would be looking for in a wedding photographer myself and built myself around that brief. I wanted somebody professional but approachable that was open to suggestions, would listen to what I wanted and somebody that I would actually like to spend my wedding day with. Oh, and perhaps take some nice photographs along the way!

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

The one that didn't go to plan

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Modern reportage candid natural stealthy

What about your business are you most proud of?

The personal touch, and the attention to detail

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Make a plan for everything, but don't be afraid to let it slip a little. Relax on your wedding day and you'll enjoy it an awful lot more.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

One Groom I shot organised a firework display for his Wife without her knowing. Immediately after their first dance he led her out to a terrace to see this brilliant firework display, it was equal parts amazing and heartwarming.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I like to meet couples prior to booking to help try and build up a picture of how their wedding is going to be, exchange their hopes for their wedding photography and my ideas for their particular wedding. After booking we can organise an engagement photoshoot if the couple so chose, this is another chance to get to know each other a little more, but couples also get to see how I work.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The one that is going to hang on the wall, whichever one that might be.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Relax, and let it rain. It's the only thing that can't be arranged so focus your efforts on other matters. If you have a Plan B in case of poor weather you'll be fine.
