What is your most memorable wedding?
Every wedding where everyone smiled all day, danced like fools and had the time of their lives.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Creative, dark vibes, editorial, modern, colourful.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm so proud to have been listed in the Top 10 UK photographers for almost 5 years running. 2024 is my 10th year in business which means I have shot around 350 weddings (that amount includes over 25 destination weddings in places like Barbados, Hong Kong, San Francisco etc). But I am mostly proud of the fact that I get responses to my wedding galleries like "OMFG AMY, I AM CRYING, our wedding photos are so damn good!" and "our family and friends have all said they have never seen wedding photos like these!" and "HOLY SHIT, WOW! We are so glad we booked you!"
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
The best way to love yourself in your wedding photos is to not focus on your small (sometimes imaginary) flaws; focus on the moment, focus on your smiles, focus on the fun. See the bigger picture. As long as you are always being your wonderful, unconventional, weird and brilliant selves on the day, your photos will reflect that! What you don't like about yourself now will become COMPLETELY insignificant in 20/30/40 years, and the photographs you once hated yourself you will wonder why you ever gave yourself a hard time about. Let go of your insecurities for just one day, act like rockstars, laugh at the fails and mishaps, STOP WORRYING ABOUT WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE. Because, to me, through my lens, you look beautiful baby.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
When I receive an enquiry from you (which I hope to be bursting with lots of fun - and maybe weird - info about you as a couple and your amazing wedding plans), I will then reply with my package options. We then book a video meeting to have a good old natter while going over my sample albums and answering questions you have. I will let you know how I shoot through a wedding and give you loads of advice on how to have a stress free day (which means your face on your photos will look relaxed and happy)! Then you can go away together and decide on the package you want, sign your contract, pay your reservation fee and you're booked! Easy peasy!
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
There is no one single photo that suits every couple. Every wedding should be as unique and special as each couple is! I will capture everything as it happens (and I mean EVERYTHING - there is nothing too messy to capture) and create some portrait images that reflect your wonderful and weird personalities.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Definitely don't avoid going outside just because it's raining. Embrace the rain, make it part of your day, take your shoes off and splash in puddles, dash outside for a minute with me and a brolly to get a unique image; just do anything you can to make sure you don't worry your one wedding day away. There is no point getting a sulk on over something you can't change! This is the UK after all, it always rains!! In fact, some of my most favourite portraits were taken on rainy days. Ask me and I can show you some.
Describe how you got into photography.
Totally by accident. I asked my dad for a video camera for Christmas and he bought me a film camera. And from then on I was hooked! I got into weddings after a friend suggested it to me and I was, at first, like "OMG NO" imagining that weddings were all traditional and samey - but my couples are all super unique and so are their weddings, and my photography matches that.
