Hi, I'm Jay!
I'm a Derbyshire-based wedding photographer with a thing for genuine moments, good light and photographs that feel a little different.
I've been photographing weddings since 2021, initially alongside my career in the police, before taking the leap and launching Amarsi & Co full-time in 2025.
Turns out, spending years dealing with unpredictable situations is pretty good preparation for weddings. I'm calm under pressure, comfortable talking to just about anyone and quite good at noticing things other people might miss.
My photography blends natural documentary storytelling with a more creative, editorial approach. Most of the time, I'm quietly documenting everything as it unfolds. But when the light's looking particularly good or there's an opportunity for a brilliant portrait, I'll happily step in and give you some direction.
I'm also a big fan of 35mm film. There's something about the grain, colours and imperfections that digital photography doesn't quite replicate. It's an optional part of my wedding collections and something I love incorporating into a gallery.
Whether you're planning an intimate ceremony or a full-day celebration, I'll work around your plans rather than expecting your day to revolve around my camera.
I offer everything from shorter wedding coverage to full-day photography, alongside wedding films, engagement shoots, albums and second photographer options.
Every photography collection includes professionally edited, high-resolution images in a private online gallery, ready to download, print and share.
I'm based in Derbyshire but travel throughout the UK and beyond.
The most important thing? I want you to feel completely comfortable having me around. We'll have a laugh, I'll get to know the people who matter to you, and you'll probably forget I'm there to work half the time.
Because the best photographs usually happen when everyone's too busy enjoying themselves to notice the camera.

What’s your photography style?
Documentary at heart, with an editorial edge. Most of the day I’m photographing things as they actually happen rather than constantly stopping and staging them. When we do portraits, I’ll give you enough direction that you don’t feel awkward, without turning your wedding into a photoshoot.
Do you shoot 35mm film?
Yep. Proper film, not a filter made to look like it. I shoot 35mm alongside digital and it’s become a big part of how I photograph weddings. If you love that slightly imperfect, nostalgic look, we can build more film into your coverage too.
How much does wedding photography cost?
Every wedding is slightly different, so I don’t try to squeeze everyone into the same package. Tell me what you’re planning and how much of the day you’d like covered, and I’ll put together options that actually make sense for your wedding. Prices from £695.
We hate having our photo taken. Is that a problem?
Not remotely. Most couples tell me this. You’re not expected to know where to stand, what to do with your hands or suddenly become models for twenty minutes. I’ll give you direction when you need it and leave you alone when you don’t.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes. I’m based in Derbyshire but photograph weddings across the UK and internationally. If you’re planning something further afield, send me the details and I’ll work out the travel properly rather than making you decipher a mileage calculator.
How long do you stay?
That depends on your plans. I photograph everything from shorter celebrations through to full wedding days, so we’ll work out what coverage makes sense rather than automatically starting at 10 hours.
Do you photograph family groups?
Of course. Documentary doesn’t mean your nan gets denied a photograph with you. We’ll keep the formal list sensible, get them done efficiently and then everyone can get back to the wedding.
When do we get our photographs?
You’ll receive your finished photographs through a private online gallery, fully edited in my usual style. I’d put your actual current delivery timeframe here rather than promising something artificially quick.
Can we print our photographs?
Absolutely. Your gallery includes personal printing rights, and you can download, share and print your photographs. Professional prints and albums are also available.
How do we book you?
Get in touch with your date and plans first, ideally via my website www.amarsiandco.uk - If I’m available, we can chat through what you’re looking for and I’ll send everything over. Your date is secured once the contract is signed and booking fee is paid.
