Meet Aly Robinson, a wedding photographer who brings a fresh, art-inspired vision to capturing your special day. Originally from Tennessee and holding a Master’s degree in Art History from Florence, Aly draws on her deep knowledge of Renaissance masters like Caravaggio to create stunning images that play beautifully with light and shadow. Now based in Scotland, she finds endless inspiration in the country’s romantic landscapes—from misty moors to the historic streets of Edinburgh—making your wedding photos truly timeless.
Aly combines fine art, editorial, and cinematic photography styles to craft images that feel both modern and classic. She sees herself as an artistic storyteller, capturing the genuine emotions and unique moments of your wedding day. Her goal is to create more than just photos—she creates a visual legacy that you’ll treasure for decades. Whether you’re planning a grand celebration or an intimate elopement, Aly specializes in capturing the romantic and cinematic spirit of your love story.
Aly understands that being in front of the camera can feel overwhelming. That’s why she focuses on creating a calm, comfortable atmosphere where you can be your true selves. To give each couple her full attention and deliver a thoughtfully curated collection of images, Aly accepts only a limited number of weddings each year. This intentional approach means you get a deeply personal experience and photos that genuinely reflect your day.
Choosing Aly Robinson means choosing a wedding photographer who is dedicated to capturing the soul of your love story, set against the breathtaking beauty of Scotland. Your wedding photos will be more than just pictures—they’ll be a timeless keepsake of your most cherished moments.

As a professional wedding and elopement photographer, with nearly 8 years of experience, I am most proud of the fact that I get to be a part of one of the most important and memorable days of my client’s lives, and that I can capture the love and joy that is shared in stunning and timeless images that will be cherished for a lifetime. It's an honor and a privilege to document my client’s special moments, and I take great pride in delivering images that will bring back memories of your big day for years to come.
My number one wedding planning tip for couples is to prioritize and focus on what truly matters to you as a couple. With so many options and details to consider, it's easy to get overwhelmed and lose sight of what's most important. Take some time to sit down together and identify the elements that are most meaningful and valuable to you both, whether it's the venue, the food, the music, or anything else. Once you have a clear sense of your priorities, you can make informed decisions that will help you create a wedding day that reflects your unique personalities and love story, and that you will both cherish for a lifetime. Also remember this is your day. You do not have to please everyone on your guest list.
Once an inquiry comes in, I stive to reply within 24 hours (if not sooner). I’ll send over my price guide and set up a google meets appointment so we can get to know each other. This is a no pressure meeting and is a great time for the couple to ask me any questions. When the couple decides to move forward, I send over my contract (which is all e-sign) and a deposit invoice. I require a 20% deposit to book, with half of the remaining total to be paid 3 months before the wedding and the last half no later than 2 weeks before. All of which can be paid for virtually. Throughout the remaining planning processes, I will sit down with clients to create a timeline of their big day, visit their venue before to get an idea of lighting and setup, send style and other wedding guides of mine and be there every step of the way.
Couples should always prioritize intimante photos of just the two of them together. Away from the wedding party and then guests. These are often the small moments that show the most emotion.
I’ve been asked to capture the bride kilt checking her new husband more than in one occasion and it easily becomes my favourite photo
We’re in Scotland, rain is just part of the charm! If it’s a misting of rain, I say we continue as planned. Often times, the rain gives this beautiful mythical feel to the photos. We may be a little wet but in the end, rainy day photos have been some of my all-time favorites. If however, it becomes a downpour, even my camera waterproofing will not hold up, so a plan B is always necessary. When I visit the venue for the first time during the planning portion, I always try to find a separate indoor location that can be used in the event of a rain storm.
I’ve had a camera in my hand as long as I can remember. My Dad was a hobbyist and he taught me everything I know. I learned how to shoot on a Sony film camera and developed my own film when I was about 11 years old. We had a dark room in the garage of the home I grew up in. As I got older, my Dad bought me my first DSLR and the rest was history. Photography is a passion for me. I love doing what I do and I love being able to use my passion and my art to capture memories that last a lifetime.
