Ali was absolutely amazing as our photographer. From the minute we met her she put us at our ease. She took a few engagement shots to let us see her work & we loved them. She was an integral part of our wedding day, blending in with us all. We were all so relaxed that our true expressions shone through. She documented our entire day so beautifully. Her photos show so much emotion we’ve relived the day over & over. Ali created a short, 6 minute, montage of our day in a photo “video” that encapsulated the fun & energy that we all shared through the day. She is a truly brilliant photographer.

We hired Ali as photographer for our wedding earlier this year. The service was fantastic from start to finish and we are so incredibly happy with the end result. Ali put together a photo video with memories of our day and it was so beautiful to see every part of the day captured. It really was a documentary of our wedding day and such a beautiful keepsake. Would recommend Ali for every occasion! She is friendly, lovely and approachable, you won’t be disappointed!!

From the moment we met Ali over 18 months ago, we knew that she was the ideal photographer for our wedding. We wanted relaxed, family friendly, in the moment photographs and Ali assured us this was her style and she definitely did not disappoint! What was initially to be an 80 person, barn style wedding changed to an intimate 20 person wedding at the Old Course Hotel and Ali was extremely patient, understanding and supportive as we made these difficult decisions and changes to our day. We had a lovely pre-wedding shoot with our son on East Sands in St Andrews and the photographs were very natural and captured us very much in the moment having fun. On our wedding day, Ali was very professional, calm and friendly with myself and Steven and also with our guests. We feel very lucky to have had such a positive experience throughout our wedding with Ali and would highly recommend her to others. We look forward to getting some more pictures taken in the future. Ali was amazing! We got married during one of the lockdowns and ended up with some absolutely INCREDIBLE photos around Edinburgh. Ali was great the whole time, super responsive in the lead up to the wedding date, really easy to work with on the day itself, and kept being very responsive afterwards as well. The quality of her photos is amazing and I love her mix of posed and candid shots. Absolutely recommend going with her for your wedding.

Ali is a gem of a person and really accommodating. She has a great knack of putting people at ease- real bonus if one is not into getting pics taken 👍🏻

I wanted to share a recommendation for a photographer- Ali Jay Photography. My husband and I got married at the end of June in the first week that weddings became legal again. We had originally planned to have a big wedding at the end of June but Covid changed our plans somewhat! Our photographer captured the most stunning photos of our day, beyond anything I could have hoped for, especially given how last minute and low key our plans were. After over 3 months of lockdown with a fair bit of comfort eating and no access to the gym I was a bit concerned about how we might all look in the photos but she’s caught us all beautifully (if I do say so myself!) She was an absolute joy to have around and our friends even thought she was an extra pal that we had invited along. We’re still planning to have a wedding party next year and she will be doing the photos for that too, I can’t wait to see how she captures that.

We booked Ali to capture our wedding day and we truly couldn't have asked for a better service. From the first contact we made, Ali was friendly, approachable, helpful and professional. We met before our wedding to discuss what we were after and had a mini photoshoot which was great to experience what it would be like on the day. In the run up to the wedding, Ali kept in touch with us making sure she had all the details correct and even sent us a 'wedding planning' bar of chocolate, which was a lovely touch. On the day itself, Ali was great. She was very much in the background, capturing all of the special moments without being intrusive and kept everyone relaxed. After the wedding, Ali kept in touch and even sent us through some previews as she knew we were excited to see. Ali created a slideshow for us using a selection of our photos and background music. I loved it so much I watched it 3 times in a row and sobbed my heart out!! We also recieved a lovely wooden USB stick which was beautifully presented in a keepsake box with all our photos on. We were absolutely delighted with the end result. Ali captured the day perfectly and we have such special photos which we will treasure forever. Thank you so much Ali, you truly are an artist!

We had the lovely Ali as our wedding photographer in November 2019. We initially chose Ali as she captures the real essence of the events she shoots as she has an eye for fantastic natural shots. Ali was so accommodating and also was able to give us great advice on what images to capture on the big day - natural and group shots. She really is a lovely person and is a dream to have on your wedding day – all the guests thought she was great and blended in which meant capturing those natural shots worked out perfectly. From our initial meeting through to the wedding day and receiving our images - Ali was professional, friendly and fabulous at what she does! I couldn’t recommend Ali enough and loved having her there with us on our big day and adore the pictures she captured!

Ali was amazing, we don't like having photos taken but we knew for our special day it had to be done. We told Ali this and she made it really easy for us. Ali also got on well with everyone especially the kids as they trusted her and we got some great natural photos of them.
