What is your most memorable wedding?
One that always comes to mind is the wonderful Welsh farm I got to photograph at last year, I got to meet (and stroke!) owls and alpacas - what more could I ask for?! The whole day was super chill and quirky!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
I would definitely say relaxed, natural, comfortable, easy and definitely fun!
What about your business are you most proud of?
I hate answering things about myself, but I’d have to say how many happy couples I have had. It takes a lot of confidence to do this for a job, and working for yourself is filled with self doubt. I am proud of my hard work and making sure I do the best I can do! A little cheesey, but true.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Write everything down. There are so many maybes and ifs and buts, get a big book - and write everything down. Seeing things helps keep your mind from getting overwhelmed! There is so much to think about, so take your time.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I have done a wedding that the couple had wrote a little note to each guest, and that was their table name placing! Super cute.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Usually I have a fair few emails and messages about things, and some prefer a phone calls! I am happy to answer anything for as long as you need to!! Once you’re happy, after booking everything in around 1-2 months before the date we have a phone call or FaceTime meeting to run over all the details of the day, hour by hour to make sure I know everything that’s going on! It gives a great chance to get to know me and for me to get to know you both! I have met people in person too for a cuppa if requested. It helps you relax, and I become a friendly face on the day.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Sunset pictures. They are always so beautiful, and it’s a little time for you both to have some calm before the evening madness begins!!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
Well, I have been asked if someone could take a picture of me - that was definitely a first!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
A brolly and some good boots!! Usually though it never rains the whole day, so there is always a chance to run outside at least once if you don’t want to get wet!
Describe how you got into photography.
My family had videographers, and I was always a little geeky. I found still photographs were more my thing, and on family holidays I realised how much I loved running off and playing with my camera. I then decided in college to study photography, and during that helped a family friend do her weddings - a few years later I started my own. Now just over 200 weddings later, I bloody love it!!
