Based in the heart of Mid Ulster, Alexandra Barfoot is a wedding photographer who travels across Northern Ireland and beyond to capture the beauty and emotion of your special day. With a Fine and Applied Art degree from the University of Ulster, Alexandra combines her artistic eye with expert photography skills to create images that are both stylish and natural—blending classic portraits with candid moments that truly reflect your wedding story.
Alexandra believes every couple’s story is unique. She takes the time to get to know you and understand what matters most, so she can capture those fleeting, heartfelt moments that make your day unforgettable. Her approach is relaxed and unobtrusive, allowing your wedding to unfold naturally while she documents genuine emotions and connections with your family and friends. The result? A beautiful, authentic collection of images that tell your wedding day story exactly as it happened.
Pets are part of the family so I love weddings when the bride or groom want photos taken with their cats, dogs or even horses. Sometimes this is done in the morning before the service or we can nip home after the ceremony. I'm happy to accommodate these requests.
Natural, Organised, Discreet, Accommodating and Patient
Repeat business from families! It's a real pleasure to be asked to photograph a wedding and it's very special to cover more than one wedding in the family. I appreciate recommendations to friends and family of the bride and groom.
Your day is there to be enjoyed whole heartedly so if you don't like the sound of something replace it with something more enjoyable.
I am happy to answer enquiries by email or in person - whatever suits the couple. A deposit secures your date and about 6 weeks before the wedding I will gather all your timings for the day and photographic requirements so I know where to be at all times and so your day runs smoothly without you having to think about it.
A few family photos are important and if you are organised they won't take long.
I don't think the most original photos can be planned, you just have to see what the weather and light is doing on the day and work with it. We've taken some great shots in the rain which weren't planned but turned out really well!
Prepare for a rainy day with an indoor location for family photos whether it's in your church or wedding venue and that way you won't have to stress on the day and it will be a bonus if you can get outside.
I studied Fine and Applied Art and specialised in Digital Photography at the University of Ulster. I have always been into photography and enjoy taking photos of my family and friends on my polaroid camera when I'm not working.
