What is your most memorable wedding?
Mr & Mrs McKie back in 2013, it was my first ever wedding and I'll never forget how nervous I was.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Cinematic, personal, unintrusive, candid and emotional.
What about your business are you most proud of?
That the way I work is not just about the camera, it's about the whole experience and the bonds that I build with my couples (who often stay in touch with me!)
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Plan as soon as possible! Get everything in place as soon as you can so you can just relax as much as possible and look forward to the big day.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Mr & Mrs Smith in June 2022. The vicar was the bride's auntie and completely customised the traditional wedding ceremony for them, it was incredibly beautiful and not a dry eye in the church!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I like to keep things simple. All I need to get started is an email address and your wedding date. I use my online booking portal to send you your quote, you choose the package you want and click accept. Nearer to the time (or as early as you'd like!) once your plans are in place, we can meet for a coffee or chat on the phone to discuss your session in detail including any unique events or special touches you'd like including.
What is the most exciting thing you have caught on camera?
The bride's parents surprising her with classic cars! Until the moment they arrived, she thought she would be arriving at the church in a taxi!
What is the one film you wish you had directed and why?
Very interesting question! I think I'd have to choose Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. It's always been a favourite of mine, it's colourful, interesting, fun and the songs are very catchy (I can still remember all of the colours in the song!)
What is your favourite soundtrack to put to a wedding video?
It depends on the couple! I prefer them to send me a list of ten songs they like and I generally include a violin, acoustic or piano cover of that song (so it doesn't distract too much!) The most interesting song I've ever put in a wedding video is a song from the Star Wars soundtrack (that was fun to make work with traditional Celtic music!)
Describe how you got into videography.
In a word, family. I was lucky enough to grow up in a family that never put the enormous 90's camcorder down. After my grandfather passed the videos suddenly stopped and I found it too sad, so I took it upon myself to keep the memories alive for everyone else, I love it so much, I decided to make it my career.
