Hi, I'm Adam 👋
Friendly

Professional
I have been shooting weddings for 10 years and I feel very lucky to say I love my job. I came from a big family with five brothers and one sister, so I value authenticity, friendship and connection.
My style is documentary with modern dramatic portraiture using true to life colours. If you love the natural look, but want a little more drama, then we will be a great match. About 90% of the day will be natural candid documentary, but you won’t find me lurking in the shadows all day. My best photos are taken when I’m in the mix with your guests. I find the best way to get stunning portraits is to keep moving around the venue and have fun.

Adam Elijah Photography Full Description
Hi, I’m Adam, owner of Adam Elijah Photography. I'm an experienced, and friendly, wedding and portrait photographer, based in South Yorkshire, although I capture beautiful wedding memories across the whole of the UK and abroad. I'm passionate about capturing images that emotionally connect with people and making best use of the surroundings. For me photography is much more than capturing beautiful memories, it's about helping couples have the best day of their lives. For every wedding I work tirelessly to capture documentary style photos and a selection of magazine worthy portraits using both natural light and off-camera techniques. When I’m not running around with a camera I love to travel, long walks, cycling and spending time with my family and two beautiful children. Please contact me with any questions and for a free no-obligations quotation.

Almost part of the family!

A few of our friends used Adam for their weddings, and when we saw his work and how he conducts himself, it was an easy choice. He is professional, personable, and works efficiently to not cause any disruption to the day. Thanks again Adam!

FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

There are so many amazing memories, although every wedding is unique. I would say one last December when we had torrential rain (I mean horizontal and gale force winds) all day!! When I arrived for the bridal preps the bride was a little downbeat about the weather, but I ensured everything would be great and we got some amazing creative photos (with brolleys) in the Church arches. I got very wet but the photos turned out great and they were over the moon.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Natural, Creative, Friendly, Unobtrusive, Quirky

What about your business are you most proud of?

7 years ago I was establishing my business whilst still working full day, renovating a house, doing all my own design work, having a child and losing my dad - it was an emotionally rollercoaster but I'm very proud to have established a successful photography business.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Allow enough time to break away from the pack and try and enjoy the moment as its over in a flash. Getting your times right is key but this is where I can also help (I'm a wedding planner too don't you know!!).

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I did a big gospel wedding and the groom and his groomsmen had perfected one of the best dance routines I have ever seen - the whole room was dancing away and they nailed it. The groom pretended he knew nothing about it at first before bursting into an amazing body popping move that had everyone in stitches!! It took them a full year of practice to get it right!! Now thats effort!!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I'm very understanding, patient and organised. I'm not bossy but I will be assertive. I like to get to know the couple and have made some great friends over the years. I like telling a bad joke or two and just having fun and keep the photos flowing rather than being static in one location.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

I don't think there is one...photos are memories captured in time and you have to see what unfolds. Often the favourite photos are ones that are unexpected and show raw emotion. That said I think every couple should take the time to have creative staged portraits and I love doing these in front of old doors, trees, and anything that adds interest to the final photo.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Well formals are pretty original photos but I think the three generations (hands) photo has been one that I've had a lot of requests for recently.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

I always bring some white brollys and off-camera flash so we can get creative if the rain gods are against us. My advice is simply not to worry about the weather rain or shine, and in fact rainy days can make for better photos that glorious sunshine. Let me worry about the weather.

Describe how you got into photography.

My sister. She was a travel photographer and I inherited all her old polaroid cameras when I was in my teens. I've been hooked ever since!!
