At a popular venue, we were not the only entertainment booked but unfortunately on their special day the bride and groom were let down and had to ask us if we could cover a large gap in the schedule. Not a problem, we added two more sets from our catalogue and saved the day!
Entertaining, Energetic, Exciting, Engaging and Electric!
The Rascals, since our very first gig, have honoured every single engagement. We have never let anyone down and have always gone that extra mile for our clients. This gives me pride in my bandmates and the band.
Whenever you speak with a band or any other vender to do with your wedding, have a clear list of points you want to get across and ask as many questions as you want. We only want to our best for you and the more information we have, the better.
The bride and groom, along with the rsvp, asked each of their guests for a musical request and sent us that list. This meant we were able interact really well with the audience as most of the material we already play could be dedicated to a guest. It was a really memorable reception and everyone was able to feel part of the whole event- even those who only came during the evening.
Usually initial contact is over email, but, we have always found that one face to face meeting can be more productive than several email exchanges and so it's great to meet the couple in person and really listen to what they want and importantly don't want. From there its plain sailing being looped in with the running schedule and adapting what we can do to make the evening run smoothly.
The first dance should be a song significant to both the bride and groom but needn't be a slow song. We are always able to give some suggestions to couples who are stuck and help find the right song for them. Whatever the song, we're often asked after 30 seconds or so, when everyone has taken a picture on their phone, to encourage other couples to take to the floor- a well trained best man and matron of honour are really good for this!
All of the songs we play are chosen for their popularity on the dancefloor. but Mamma Mia, Dancing on the Ceiling, Summer of '69, Don't Stop Me Now, Mr Brightside, Sex on Fire, Don't Stop Believing are all classics and STILL get audiences on their feet!
