FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Every wedding offers something special and unique - but our favourites are definitely smaller, more intimate affairs. The smallest wedding we've played for was for 11 guests at the Haymarket Hotel in London - but typically we play for between 50 - 120 guests (though we do of course offer a larger band for bigger events)

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Classic, elegant, entertaining, dynamic, intimate

What about your business are you most proud of?

Our attention to detail - we love to offer personal and attentive service from the moment of your first enquiry through to the day of your wedding Learning new songs especially for your day is a particular pleasure - whatever we can do to make your celebration special and unique, we will do.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Take your time and follow your heart. There's no "right" way - just what feels right for you (oh and if you possibly can, try and see your band live before you book them!)

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Too many to mention really - table plans that had an individual picture of each guest, a vintage typewriter for guests to write messages to the couple, the bride who surprised her husband by singing a song, the bride who learnt to play the saxophone in just three months and amazed all her guests, the husband who secretly recorded a CD for his wife...

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Ideally we'll start with a phone conversation, then perhaps a more detailed chat on Skype or Facetime. We love to meet in person so will invite couples to see us playing live at venues or to come to wedding fairs that we're exhibiting at. We're always on the end of the phone or email for a chat and are happy to offer as much advice as our couples ask for.

What makes a romantic first dance?

It's all about the melody and lyrics! Slick choreography is great if you're confident dancers - but for most of us it's more important to choose a song that has special significance and which is smoochy enough for us to enjoy the moment without the pressure of complicated dance-moves.

What is your number one floor-filler?

It really depends on the age-group of the crowd - sometime it's a classic Nina Simone or Frank Sinatra, song, other times it's Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, Clean Bandit, Pharrell Williams or Justin Timberlake that gets the party going.

Which band from the past would you most like to have been part of?

Earth, Wind and Fire!

What is the soundtrack to your life?

Andrea: The Dave Matthews Band - Crash Lynden: John Coltrane - A Love Supreme
