What is your most memorable wedding?
For me, nothing beats playing for my friends and family, and it was playing for my flatmate Emma's wedding that gave me the 'wedding harpist' bug.
My favourite of these (if I had to rank them!), would be my brother-in-law's small Highland wedding. Playing outside in October in the Highlands might be a bit chilly, but boy, were the views worth it! Congrats again, Mark and Nadine! <3
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Friendly, Elegant, Flexible, Showstopping, Amplified
What about your business are you most proud of?
My repertoire. I've had couples request anything from 90s dance tunes, video game music to Debussy and traditional Scottish sets. There's nothing better than a couple coming up to me and saying that their aisle music was perfect, and exactly what they'd dreamt of.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Relax! Have fun! It's easy to get bogged down in the smaller details, but you're marrying your love, and the day's going to be perfect anyway because you two are there.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I quite like a wee skype/FaceTime consultation with my couples if they've not met me in person. I'll play them some of their favourite tunes across both of my harps (as I'm aware most people aren't as harp obsessed as I am and might not know the difference) and talk about their thoughts for their ceremony music.
On the day itself, I'm there before the celebrant/humanist/registrar setting up and tuning before your guests are around, and I'm totally self contained/able to move the harp by myself. You don't have to give me a second thought, just enjoy the music.
