ONSET DJ'S

I stumbled across Onset when I was scrolling through Bridebook and one of the reviews immediately caught my eye about how the bride and groom had wildly different musical tastes and yet it had all been brought together and made to work brilliantly. I told Jon that my now husband is a big drum and bass guy, whereas I loved ABBA so much, I wanted enough in the mix so that it felt like its own genre. We didn't scare him off at all, and when we met up with him for cocktails, we could really see how much passion Jon has for his job and how seriously he takes the responsibility he shoulders on such an important day. He seemed genuinely excited when going through our list of songs and you could see the cogs whirring about how it was all going to come together. I never had any doubt that it would work, and lo and behold, when the big day came round, we had it all! There were people on the dancefloor all night, right up until the end, and the DnB section had the floor full of people just going crazy. It was a joy to see and we are so so grateful to Jon for providing us with such a great time, and lasting memories. We had a lot of compliments on the night and are still receiving them, it was a standout part of the wedding to people and that is all I could ask for - thank you Onset!

Jon has been so fun to work with. From our first meeting it was so clear how passionate and excited he is about music! We had the best party at our wedding and everyone has been so complimentary of Jon. We loved making the start of the playlist together and then Jon did such a great job of seeing what was working and running with it. We really liked that Jon does sections of different genres/artists rather than feeling like he's just hit shuffle on a playlist. Best night ever and wish we could do it all over again, would highly highly recommend!

Before beginning the search for a DJ for our wedding, we were doubtful we'd be able to find someone who could give us the type of vibes and eclectic mix of tunes we were looking for. Then we found Jon, who was full of enthusiasm, ideas and a joy to work with throughout the whole process. Someone with genuine club pedigree who was pretty much the opposite of the stereotypical wedding DJs we were desperate to avoid! Jon was super professional and communicative in the buildup to the wedding and absolutely smashed it on the day itself with a great lighting and sound rig showcasing a set that ranged from Soul and pop classics, to 90s R&B and Dancehall right through to UK Garage, Drum n bass and noughties anthems. We absolutely loved it and so did our guests. Thanks again for an unforgettable party to cap off our wedding day!

Well, what can we say, if you’re thinking of booking Jon for your wedding, don’t hesitate, just do it! From first enquiring, Jon was quick to respond and this communication was always there right up until the wedding. When we booked, we then arranged to meet in person for drinks. During this, Jon really took the time to get to know us as a couple and what was important to us at our wedding. Me and my husband keep saying that it was our favourite part of wedding planning, because Jon made it really easy and fun! We trusted Jon to play all our favourite music, that would get everyone up dancing and he definitely did that! I genuinely didn’t leave the dance floor the entire night and our guests are still talking about how great he was. His ability to read the dance floor and keep people dancing and having the best time was brilliant. My husband and I love Ndubz and really wanted to play a specific song and I said to my husband before the wedding ‘there’s no way that can be played at a wedding and not clear the dance floor, it just won’t work’. We mentioned it to Jon a week before the wedding when we were catching up and Jon did infact play that song and it was one of ours, and the guests favourite parts of the night. Jon isn’t your stereotypical wedding DJ, the set he played for us was totally tailored to our taste and songs we all thought our friends and family would enjoy. And putting all that aside, Jon is genuinely such a lovely person and someone we’re really glad was part of our wedding! Don’t hesitate to book, highly recommend 🙌🏻

Just wow what a service! From the start of the booking all the way to the day itself, we could not have asked for more! He helped us build a playlist, suggested great songs to complement what we had and then helped us work out the best way to utilise his service. The day its self was great, he set up fast and had it all ready even after battling some heavy traffic. The blends and orders of the songs were masterful and as the night wrapped up he worked great to finish on a bang! Genuinely a lovely bloke on top of all that! Would recommend 100 times over! Jon was the DJ for our wedding reception and we gave him the unenviable task of combining pop punk and drum and bass into a cohesive party. This he most certainly did! We had an amazing time from start to finish from our custom first dance mix to throwing shapes and singing along and I know our guests will remember this one for a while to come! Jon is a fantastic DJ and made sure the party kept on going all night. We booked Jon after meeting him at a wedding fair at our venue and I’m so glad we did! He made sure he got to know us as a couple, made multiple playlists that we could contribute to to make sure he got the mood right and kept in touch through the whole process even mixing a very special sound file into our day- it was perfect and couldn’t of asked for a better DJ. We both couldn't have picked a better person to DJ at our wedding. From start to finish he made our wedding day more memorable. Jon was absolutely spot on from start to finish, the initial conversation we had led to us sitting down over a drink and starting to plan a playlist, throwing all kinds of genres and artists towards Jon allowed him to make the perfect playlist for our big day. Not only was he there early, he knew how to work the group, kept the music flowing and mixed everything perfectly. Would HIGHLY recommend Jon to anyone looking for a DJ for the big day. We originally were just going to have a speaker and a playlist but I am SO glad I found Jon, absolutely brilliant. He changed our night. We spoke with Jon about the potential of having a Saxophonist and he pointed us in the direction of a brilliant chap called Elliot. These 2 together are like a match made in heaven, absolutely class.
