What is your most memorable wedding?
A couple flew over 120+ guests from New York to get married on the hottest day of the year in a blacked-out Marquee. I don't know what it was about it but there was certainly a buzz in the air, the stars were aligned and nothing was going to stop this Wedding being an absolute belter! It was emotional, exciting and most importantly for me, the dancefloor was jam-packed for the whole night!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Light-hearted, On-the-ball, Mindful, Meticulous, Uncompromising
What about your business are you most proud of?
The fact that it's growing year on year (with 2020 being the obvious exception)
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
When choosing a venue, ask them if there's any noise restrictions including complaints from neighbours. Ask about their typical turnaround time between the meal and first dance.
If you book 4ft light up letters, position them near the entrance as opposed to the dancefloor, it allows people to get a picture next to them and won't put anyone off from dancing because of how bright they are!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I was once working a Wedding alongside a band (I supplied the PA & was running their sound). All of a sudden they stop and ask the Groom to take to the stage. The groom then asked the Bride to head to the dancefloor, to which he sang an amazing version of Better Man by Paolo Nutini (with the band backing him). It was a total surprise for everyone except the band, groom and myself (we had a quick rehearsal that morning before the ceremony) and it went down an absolute storm!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Couple Enquire. We arrange a meeting (or phonecall) to go through what I do. If they're happy then I send out a booking fee invoice, booking form & contract. Once booking is confirmed we fill in more details as we get closer to the big day.
What makes a romantic first dance?
Making it as intimate as possible
What is your number one floor-filler?
The obvious answer would be Tina Turner - Proud Mary. Fills a floor at 95% of Weddings.
