What is your most memorable wedding?
There are too many weddings to choose one that is most memorable. Other than ones for celebrities, it is the ones that would have an additional form of entertainment for some part of the evening stand out in my mind, such as dancers or singers.
What about your business are you most proud of?
The business has grown year-on-year since I started out. The 'Thank you' I receive after every event always makes me proud as it means that not only have I delivered what the clients were hoping for, but I have done it well and in many cases surpassed their expectations. However I would have to say it is the clients that book me again for other events or through recommendations that I am most proud.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Allow yourself a good size budget for the evening entertainment. It is the longest part of your wedding day and probably one of the most memorable parts of your big day for all your guests next to the ceremony and the speeches.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Personal touches are something I see at almost every wedding, and they can be from the table centre-pieces, to photos or ornaments around a venue. Even the wedding cake can creatively personalised
Describe your typical process with a couple.
The first thing I like to do is speak with a couple and learn about them, how they met, and get to know them. We then discuss their big day with regards to how they imagine their wedding day and what I can offer to help make the day a huge success. I am also happy to have face-to-face meetings. When a couple like what I can do specifically for their wedding and want to book, a booking agreement is sent, and only if they are happy with everything do they sign.
What makes a romantic first dance?
A song that has a special meaning with both the bride and groom will always make the first dance romantic and you can see this with the big smiles they have.
What is your number one floor-filler?
I wouldn't say there was a number one floor-filler, as each party and every crowd are different. Some songs that have always been well received include Show Me Love - Robin S (Stonebridge MIx), and Mr Brightside - The Killers. In recent years Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars have also produced popular tracks.
What is the soundtrack to your life?
Going through High School in the early 90's meant that I had grown up with some of the great 70's & 80's songs that my parents would listen too, and it was during the 90's that I started to find the sounds that I enjoyed the most. Soulful and early house music was the direction I took where I started to find myself after listening to commercial radio. As the years went by I found I was also enjoying other varieties of music and artists such as the Indie bands. In the late 90's I found I was enjoying music of all many different genres and decades that the music I would listen to simply depended on the mood I was in at the time. To this day I still have fond memories from hearing certain RnB tracks, club classics, garage, house, trance, reggae, rock or indie.
