It's tough because there are so many, but I think performing at a wedding held at the Cavern Club in Liverpool was pretty special - especially being a huge Beatles fan!
Versatile, powerful, show-stopping, joyous, intimate.
That I genuinely care about your special day. Ultimately, I'll do my best for you as it's not really about me. It's your special day.
I have two! Firstly, book your suppliers nice and early and you're not worrying about whether people are available. And secondly, don't sweat the small stuff on the day. You can get hung up on the small details but really it's all about enjoying the day, and that means spending time with your nearest and dearest - especially your partner! Don't get herded around like sheep. Of course there are formal things that you have to get done, but by and large, spend your day as you see fit!
There's lots I've seen, from time capsules, surprise weddings and cakes in the shape of a dog. But from a music perspective, the bride surprised the groom by walking down the aisle to his grandmother's favourite song who was a huge part of his life. It made for one of the most emotional and magical entrances I've ever seen.
It all starts with a phone call or email. We'll sort out which part(s) of the day you want music for and what you're wanting in terms of musical style - whether it's upbeat, background, romantic etc. You can pick your favourites from my repertoire etc. We can then sort timings out as and when you have them and get you booked in. Usually I'll take a deposit to secure the date and we're all set. Of course as you get further down the line there's always one or two things that you might want to amend or make me aware of and that's fine. As ever, communication is key and you can be as thorough or as hands off as you like depending on your preference. So long as we've got the basics of when and where I'm playing for you sorted, I'll ensure everyone has a good time!
First dances are so personal that it really is about who you are as people. Of course choose your favourite, or most personal song as a couple. But if you don't like eyes on you for 4 minutes, keep it short and sweet, or else, get everyone on the dance floor with you.
Proud Mary. Never fails.
Queen. But I am in a Queen tribute band as well as my wedding duties so I'm possibly biased!
Lots of classic hits. As alluded to, The Beatles, Queen, a few motown tunes, abit of Britpop and 00's indie. But anything with a fantastic melody and I'm hooked.
