Though I have lots of amazing memories, one in particular stands out. I was asked to play for the ceremony for a couple but not their exit song. The song they had selected was a worship song called Praise by Elevation, a favourite of my own. When the PA stopped the song, I continued to play it which both surprised the couple but was a lasting memory for them.
Relaxed, Chilled, Creative, Memorable, Professional
Helping couples navigate song choices, and learning songs that are not only special to the couple but their families.
The wedding is about you, not your friends, not your family. Have someone that you can delegate any dramas to.
The husband of one couple asked me if we could surprise the bride during the signing of the register by having the flowers girls sing 'A Million Dreams' from The Greatest Showman. A couple of rehearsals and it was a beautiful surprise, not only for the bride but the families.
After confirming availability and getting the date in the diary, I work with the couple to think through their favourite songs and artists. If needed, I will make suggestions on songs other couples have used. We will then agree on songs for the wedding march, signing of the register and exit song. I always remind couples that the wedding march is usually under a minute so we discuss what part of the song, often pre-recording that section for the couple to listen to.
A song that connects a couple, doesn't necessarily have to be your traditional romantic song or artist, but something that bonds and brings the couple closer to each other.
