FAQs
Find out a bit more from our FAQs

What is your most memorable wedding?

Ah that's a 'How Long Is A Piece Of String' question. With over 1000 amazing weddings there are so many which stand out! But I particularly love the more offbeat weddings, whether that is a cool theme or just a very cool couple

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Classy Personalised Fun Memorable Professional

What about your business are you most proud of?

I'm immensely proud to call many of my past clients my friends, that they stay in touch and genuinely appreciate the effort which went into making their wedding amazing.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

The Weddings which look most effortless are the ones which have been carefully and thoroughly prepared for!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I'm a huge fan of the personalised introduction which I offer to clients who choose me as their Master of Ceremonies. It's great to see their sense of humour and personalties reflected but even greater to see how their guests become involved and learn things about their hosts they may not have known!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Generally I receive either an e-mail or a phone call. Often this turns into a meeting to discuss requirements and then a quote. The meeting isn't mandatory, but it can be really helpful. Once a couple books me I send out the paperwork, planning tools etc. Once the Booking Form is received back along with the small Booking Fee the date is confirmed and we can start the planning! I discuss with my clients what they really want for their Wedding Day. Not 'things' but emotions. How do they want the day to flow, what kind of atmosphere do they want, how formal or informal they want things to be and how involved they want their guests to be. Then there's the music - my clients can provide as much or as little input as they like. I provide guidance, help and suggestions but the client is always in charge. We may meet a couple or a few times more depending on the complexity of their requirements and how much support they need. Alternatively we can chat via e-mail, phone or Skype. Closer to the time I will also make contact with the venue, photographer/videographer and any other entertainers to ensure that everyone is fully informed and working together to create an incredible day. Then we bring it all together and hopefully on the day the Couple can relax and enjoy their day knowing they have a top quality team looking after them!

What makes a romantic first dance?

When a First Dance is a song which really means something to the Couple that can show. Body language, ensuring that they are comfortable with how things are being done also helps and I discuss this with clients in advance. It always helps if you can practice and incorporate a few moves, either on your own or with the help of a dance teacher.

What is your number one floor-filler?

I think these days crowds are so diverse there is no longer such a thing as a universal floor filler. For relatively current songs Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk is still popular. I'm seeing a resurgence of of popular 90s Indie and Rock such as Reef - Place Your Hands and of course Motown and Northern Soul favourites such as Jackie Wilson - Your Love Is Lifting Me (Higher & Higher) and Stevie Wonder - Superstition are always popular. But, every wedding is different!

Which band from the past would you most like to have been part of?

Without a doubt Earth Wind & Fire just for the sheer funk and energy (and perhaps the sparkly costumes!)

What is the soundtrack to your life?

That depends on my mood. I can get very Bridget Jones at times, I love the tracks from the Songs for Housework series but I think my own soundtrack would be very varied.
