Carol Black Music The Soul Singer Full Description
What you can expect from your experience with Carol throughout your special occasion is first and foremost professionalism. It's not just any old event, she will do her utmost in so far as it is possible to accommodate the various special requests you may have leading up to and during your big day. You will receive a list of the songs in her repertoire well in advance, and will have an opportunity to select which ones you would like her to sing. She engages with the audience, and sets everyone at ease by roving around the room with her cordless mic, interacting with the guests, having a sing-song, and lightening the mood. Her soulful voice resonates and fills the room with sheer delight and usually has everyones attention as she sings straight from the heart, and never fails to fill the dance floor with young and old alike. The genres of music Carol sings are primarily old school Soul and Motown, which for the most part takes so many people down memory lane, and evokes a sense of nostalgia, and fond memories which usually puts everyone in a great mood. As for the couple whose special day it is, there's an opportunity for either or both the bride and groom to singing to each other with Carol as their backing singer, while expressing their love and affection through music and dance. You will receive a copy of Carol's CD as a parting gift at the end of the evening, along with a handful of the guests that helped make your event special. All bookings are confirmed with an agreement outlining all of the details agreed verbally or written. There is usually a £50 non refundable deposit once the booking is confirmed. Carol will provide her own equipment and lights, and will require at least two hours to set up and sound check prior to the guests arrival. It is also important to note that parking with easy access to the venue for loading and unloading is essential. Payment should be cash on the day placed in an envelope for discretion, and paid before the end of the evening.

Everyone danced from the first song to the last. The bride and groom not only rehearsed a dance routines with the best man and his chums, but he sang "My Girl" to his bride, with heartfelt passion. A truly unforgettable wedding reception.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Charismatic, Entertaining, Soulful, Engaging, Fun.

What about your business are you most proud of?

The fact that it speaks for itself. No hard sell, just doing what she enjoys and does best, organically and naturally, and by word of mouth Carol has over 20 years behind her, and still going.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Not to leave everything to the last minute. Whilst it's clear that planning a wedding is very stressful, lots and lots to organise. However the band, the singer, or even the DJ are perhaps the only bit of the evening that will either leave you on a high or a low, so be sure to communicate well in advance expressing your wishes, and liaise with whoever is providing your entertainment to ensure that your wishes are known. If the food wasn't too wonderful, or the venue didn't quite meet with expectation, or the flowers wilted before the end of the night, or the speeches went on a bit too long. With all of that, if the entertainment is right, and people are up dancing, and having a great time, they will forget all the hitches along the way, indeed as you will also.
