Blu Ice, previously know as Blu Ice Roadshow, based in Hadleigh, specialises in quality audio and lighting entertainment across Essex, Suffolk and other surrounding counties. Blu Ice are an independent DJ company. We promise to deliver an unforgettable night with our wedding DJ entertainment. Josh and Dan both love up to date music and all those chart hits. They both enjoy listening to Old Skool RnB classics, Modern Chart Hits, Rock and Dance music, but also other past time classics, such as Bryan Adams – Summer of 69 and not forgetting Bon Jovi- Living on a Prayer. Josh and Dan are not just DJ’s. Josh has worked for many years in the ambulance service and now a fully qualified Paramedic, so you are in safe hands at your wedding! Dan has a completely different job and works in IT. With Dan’s IT knowledge and skills, he ensures all our equipment is fully functioning, up to date and to the highest performance, so they can deliver an outstanding performance! Using state of the art DJ software, equipment and lighting systems, Blu Ice caters for any event. Blu Ice guarantees a professional and reliable service, and aims to exceed all expectations! What is your most memorable wedding?
Every wedding is different in one way or another and unique compared from one to the other. We have had so many good weddings over the years, that it makes it hard to really pick out just one.
What is your most memorable wedding?
We have had the pleasure of attending lots of weddings, but our most memorable, would of course have to be one of our family members. We had a small DJ cocktail set up on a law for when the canapes were served. The clients had requested some Ibiza chill out songs to be played. When the food was due to be served, we had a quick pack down of the cocktail set, whilst the main set had already been set up earlier that day.

What about your business are you most proud of?
Our dedication to all our couples, to ensure we give an amazing performance. We both work very hard to make sure we give you the best night possible. We are both very flexible, relaxed and want your guests to have a great time. We love meeting with out clients to discuss your visions as you progress through your planning stages.

We are proud of every part of our business. We work hard in the background, in the lead up to any wedding and the ongoing running behind the scenes. We are highly committed to providing superb customer service, not just on your wedding day but also in every aspect of your wedding journey with us.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make a plan and stick to it. Find the right suppliers for you. Suppliers that you click with are important, this will ensure you get a great service and builds trust.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Set a plan, detail what you want at your wedding, and use this for your planning. Do not be afraid to contact and book suppliers early, this will ensure your preferred suppliers are free, rather than leaving it too late, always factor in your budget and do not be afraid to meet up with a supplier prior to booking.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We love an eye for detail and those finer details really do matter, in our opinion. We have had a guest approach us about using a rustic set and this was a huge deciding factor. We surprised them in a follow up meeting with a picture of our new Rustic Stand, which they loved and instantly booked after seeing it.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Clients send us an booking enquiry. We follow up within 24 hours and like to arrange a face to face, video chat or telephone call to discuss your wedding and the visions you have. Some clients like to meet us in person, so we arrange to meet at a nice cafe and have a chat over coffee.
The couples are required to make a deposit to secure the date and final payment is due 4 weeks prior to the wedding. We also like to meet up around this time to discuss first dance music and the finer details.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
When we receive your enquiry, we aim to reply within 24 hours maximum. We often send an email confirming your wedding date and venue, if you have not already told us. We encourage couples to have a chat with us, over the phone, FaceTime or even Teams. This is so we can hear about your visions for your day and inform you of how we operate and can help with your day. This gives you the chance to ask any questions.
There is no hard selling from us, we leave you to decide what direction you wish to take, but normally follow up with an email within 7 days. This is so we can update our availability for any other couples enquiring. If you need more time, that is no problem, just let us know that you are still deciding.
What is your No.1 top tip for keeping a crowd entertained?
Allow your guests to make requests. We always tell our couples to be flexible with the music. We appreciate its your day, but we also want your guests talking about how great the evening was. Allowing them to make requests and giving the DJ's flexibility, helps a DJ play to the crowd and keep people dancing all night.
What makes a romantic first dance?
This is all down to the couples own visions, but we aim to help you create that memory. With use of our White LED dancefloor and slow moving DJ lights, we can certainly create that memorable moment, with help from the photographer. Throw in our confetti cannon, whether it’s plain white paper or with silver foil, and it looks truly breath taking.
What is your number one floor-filler?
With so many great classics out there, it’s hard to choose just the one… Sex on Fire and Wonderwall certainly go down a treat at the end of the night, but with so many favourites from different genres, you will have to find out on the night.
Where is the most memorable place you have performed?
We have 3 memorable places.

Which band from the past would you most like to have been part of?
Although, not quite a band, it would have to be Phil Collins. I have several of his albums that I listen to and love his style of music.
Have you had any interesting surprises at a wedding?
We have seen some amazing fire work displays, but my favourite has to be the acrobat plane flying over shooting fireworks as it went over.
What is the soundtrack to your life?
It’s got to be “I’ve had the time of my life” or Journeys “Don’t Stop Believing”. These are fantastic songs that everyone gets involved with, and sing from the heart. But please don’t ask us to help with the famous “Lift”.
