One that sticks in my mind is a marquee wedding in Northamptonshire. Quite an unusual booking as it was scheduled to finish at 1030pm (due to the neighbours). The Wedding party sat down quite late to eat, so we flew through the first dance and the guests were eager to hit the floor, at 1015, the bride and groom said their goodbyes, and every single guest lined their driveway as they left in a classic Jaguar, with fireworks going off in the background.

The team of like minded professional DJs that have joined the BlackTieDj team over the years. They're the hardest working, professional entertainers that I know, and give 110% effort to everything they do.
Don't forget about the reception, it's the longest time period of the day for guests, often 4 - 5hrs in duration. I occaisionally see couples that I have helped in the past and they still comment 10 years down the line about their amazing evening party.
A bride secretly asked all the grooms (and their) family and friends to send a video of them singing Don't Stop Believing, and edited it together and surprised him at their Wedding party. Of course we knew about the secret, but it totally blew the groom away.
We make things as easy as possible to book, there's no deposit charged, we issue a legally binding contract, and supply a bespoke event planner, which the bride and groom can work through at their leisure. This briefs our team on their musical requirements. Couples comment its a very hassle free process.
With the guests gathered around the dancefoor, the bride and groom walking hand in hand onto the dancefloor. We often suggest they start at the back of the room, and start the walk to the floor as we introduce them, with a round of applause and cheering from the guests, it makes for a special moment.
Every Wedding is different, but if I had to put a bet on it, a little bit of 70s disco or 80s pop tends to have the right response.
I can't say I would like to have been in a band from the past, but more a DJ in the early years of the dance music scene, I started DJing in nightclubs in 1996, I just wish that was 10 years earlier!
Quite simply, Music! The playlist in the office ranges from 70's disco and funk through to current pop and completely everything in between.
