Athena Strings is perfect for your wedding, making it a day that you and your guests will never forget. We have played at hundreds of wedding and events worldwide, including a performance for David Cameron and President Xi Jinping of China on his state visit to the UK. Our players perform regularly for orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Hallé, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Manchester Camerata and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
We pride ourselves on the quality and versatility we provide, making Athena Strings a ‘must-have’ for your occasion. Whether it be your wedding, a corporate function, a party or any other kind of event, we love what we do and are always excited to be able to enhance it. Throughout the process, you deal with us directly, keeping costs down and making it an individualised experience.

What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding was a Disney themed day. We had so much fun playing lots of Disney music and admiring the beautifully decorated venue!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Modern, exciting, versatile, fun and must-have!
What about your business are you most proud of?
We started Athena Strings as students. We have now all graduated and now run an extremely successful business providing music for hundreds of weddings across the country. We have an extraordinary amount of repertoire and are happy to write any songs we don't have.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Enjoy the planning process!! It may seem stressful at times but the big day goes by so quickly! You need to enjoy the time leading up to it as much as the big day itself.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We played at a Christmas wedding and the couple had hand-made their favours. These were individual festive chutneys for each table. They were delicious!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
When you contact me with your wedding date/venue I will provide a breakdown of our four main packages. You then let me know if you wish to proceed and I will invoice you. Once we have received your deposit I will provide you with the password to access the Booking Area on our website. Here you need to complete a Music Request Form with your final song choices and timings and return this to us no later than 6 weeks before the wedding. Thats it!
What makes a romantic first dance?
Ed Sheeran - Perfect is extremely popular at the minute and is such a lovely song!
What is your number one floor-filler?
Living On A Prayer gets everyone singing!
Which band from the past would you most like to have been part of?
I would have liked to work with Michael Jackson - his music is one of a kind.
What is the soundtrack to your life?
This is really hard.... It can vary between The Simpsons theme tune when I am busy to Bach's Air on a G String when I am more relaxed!
