Budget is always a constraint, have a think about what the key items you each don't want to compromise on are and then compromise on the rest!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Initial contact, (typically this person will continue to handle this client throughout the process), phone conversation about broad concepts, initial quote to give guidance on price, further dialogue and refinement of quote, site visit, deposit for key items, refinement and booking in of smaller items/extras, full payment 7 days before event, tent erection and extras, sign off from client, person on call for eventualities, tent take down, end of event walk around and sign off with designated person if couple have gone on honeymoon.
How do you create an ambiance in a marquee?
Good lighting and subtle decoration achieves a great deal, for us using up-lighters (varying colours) on the inside of the canvas and festoon lights around the edge work very well
Where is the most exciting place that you have put a marquee?
There are a few answers to this for varying reasons. For the event itself: Scone Palace Rewind festival, For the location/setting: Isla, Scotland and for the complexity of the installation: Fulham Palace Gardens (World Heritage Site) for the 2015 rugby world cup final
What is your record time for putting up your marquee?
Our tents come in a range of sizes and depending on the extras rigging times can range quite a bit, however record times would probably be around 2hrs for a small tent and 5hrs for one of the larger ones and its extras.
What is your favourite design of marquee and why?
Stretch tents of course! Because they look awesome, but also because of their versatility in the different ways you can rig them and their ability to work with uneven, unusual and constrained environments traditional tents can't.
